I held Mikael's hand and rested my head on his shoulder. "Your hand is cold." Hindi naman masyadong malamig dito sa eroplano.
"Kinakabahan talaga ako," bulong niya.
"Kuya will love you."
I'm sure of it. Naikwento ko na kay Kuya Jovanni ang lahat ng tungkol sa amin ni Mikael noon. He kept on completing him because of how he is as a person.
Mikael tightened his hold. "Si Kuya, wala pang asawa?" he suddenly asked.
"Kahit girlfriend, wala," I answered. "After he got broken hearted because of his ex, hindi na raw siya nagmahal ulit."
"Maybe he really loves her," he said and I nodded. Kuya's ex is his the one that got away. Tinanggap na lang ni Kuya na hindi sang-ayon ang oras sa kanila at hindi na sinubukan pang magmahal ulit.
Love is really something else. It's too powerful that we cannot control it. Like Kuya Jovanni, I felt the same before. Kung hindi si Mikael ay wag na lang. After pushing him away, I chose not to love again. I can't. Siya lang ang gusto ng utak ko, ng puso ko, ng sistema ko.
Kaya sinubukan kong kayanin at magpatuloy pagkatapos niyang umalis. I continued my life and achieved my goals just like what I planned in the first place. Ginawa ko ang lahat para sa sarili ko.
I chuckled at myself. Damn, it's been four years and now we're here. Bumalik pa rin sa isa't isa na pinaniwalaan kong hindi na mangyayari pa.
"What were you thinking?" Mikael asked.
"The things that happened after you left," I answered.
