Before we begin, the initial segment of this chapter will be less detailed and move at a faster rate than usual, due to me not caring enough to add more detail. It's irrelevant, but the rest of this arc misses its context without it, so... anyway, back to the story. ________________________________________________________________________________
At U.A. High School...
The students at U.A. had had an eventful year up to this point. To begin with, the quirkless student who beat all of them in the practical exam decided not to show up. Then, within two weeks of arriving in U.A., they had been ambushed by a group known as the League of Villains and forced to fight for their life. After that came the U.A. Sports Festival, an annual event where the students of U.A. would test their skills against one another to see who was the strongest; the winners were Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and Hitoshi Shinso, gaining 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in that order. Next came the student's work experience, where pro heroes who had seen the students perform in the sports festival would offer a week's worth of experience in the field. This was also when Tenya Iida had his run-in with Hero Killer Stain, an event that people were still hesitant to discuss. This now brings us to the present day. The students have completed their first half-term of school and a discussing what to do with it. Unfortunately, the school has other ideas.
At the start of the day, the students are discussing how they will spend their half-term break. Momo intends to spend it at home with her family, Mineta intends to... be Mineta, and Bakugo intends to "find the villainous shit who beat him in the attack on the USJ and pound him into a bloody pulp." His words, not mine. Anyway, as they were discussing this, Aizawa (who had mostly healed from the attack on the USJ at this point) walked into the classroom, to which he was met with silence. He said, "Listen up. You're probably imagining how you're going to spend your summer break. Whatever it is, discard it. You're all going to a summer training camp, which will allow you all to grow your quirks and become stronger." This was met with uproar, so Aizawa took them out to the testing ground he had used to assess them at the start of the year. He demonstrated that even though they had gotten stronger as people and as heroes, their quirks had not grown at the same rate. This trip was designed for them to grow their quirks, allowing them to grow stronger at a much faster rate.
The Day Of The Trip...
Class 1-A had been anxiously awaiting this trip since they were notified of it. Not only that, but Class 1-B would also be attending the summer camp, for reasons which I do not know. Competition, probably. Anyway, the classes arrived at the grounds and were introduced to the Wild, Wild Pussycats, a team of heroes whose outfits were that of cats. They told the classes that this trip was to make them stronger, but that to do so they would need an initial estimate of their strength as they were now. To do this, they sent the classes into a forest full of deadly creatures that were extremely powerful and hard to kill. After a few hours, the teams had made it to the campsite and bunked down for the night before the next day's training.
Two days prior... at the villain's hideout...
Deku was sitting on the roof of the League's hideout. He liked to come up here on occasion and clear his thoughts when Shigaraki was being too much of a pain to deal with. Besides, the ambiance was nice; the beeping of horns, and the mindless chatter of people passing by. It was almost nostalgic, in a way. He closed his eyes and just for a moment, he lost himself in that noise, letting the sounds of Japan wash him adrift of this place and its filth. Sadly, that would not last.
"DEKUU!", a husky voice cried up. "GET DOWN HERE!" Opening his eyes, Deku stood up and made his way down to the bar, where Shigiraki and Kirogiri were waiting for him. Magne, Dabi, and Toga (who was leering at him in her sadistic way) were also there, which surprised him. They had gone into hiding since becoming a member of the League, so Deku had just forgotten about them. Since they were here now, Deku suspected something big was coming. "About time, freak," Shigaraki jabbed, hoping to get a response from him. He didn't.
