Deku had just exited the hall for the written exam when he was called over by presumably a U.A. teacher. Deku quickly identified him as Eraser Head, a Hero who could disable your quirk by looking at you, however it would wear off when he blinked. Deku was immediately on guard, if not outwardly. This Hero was known for having little-to-no-tolerance for tricks or lies. "Uuuh, can... Tanjiro Silva please come with me?" he asked, sounding like he wanted this to be done with already. Recognizing his chosen alias, Deku walked over to Eraser Head and followed him throughout U.A.'s halls. Eventually, they passed through a set of important-looking doors, and entered a board room for the U.A. staff. At the table stood Midnight, Present Mic, Principal Nezu and the number one hero, All Might.
"Hello Mr Silva," Principal Nezu began, "you're probably wondering why I have called you here." Deku was indeed wondering this, but had to play it cool. "That's right, Principal Nezu, I am." replied Deku, being formal to the head of U.A. "Did I break one of the rules on accident?", he asked, pretending to care. "No, no, no Mr Silva. In fact, I wanted to congratulate you." Principal Nezu replied. " You see Mr Silva, the test of which you just partook has been used for many years now, and you have set the new record for most points earned," Principal Nezu declared, happiness practically radiating off of him. Deku, still pretending to care said, " Really?" "Yes, Mr Silva." Principal Nezu answered, "really really. Needless to say, you will no doubt be accepted into the hero course and-"
"Actually Principal, I don't want to join the hero course." The room became still. The teachers looked at each other, surprised that someone would turn down their chance at U.A. after working so hard. Even Eraser Head showed... mild surprise.
"So then why did you take the exam?" asked Midnight, getting involved in the conversation. "I took the exam, because I wanted to prove something," Deku began, dropping the ignorant schoolboy act. "I wanted to prove to the world that a Quirkless child could be just as powerful, or even stronger that someone with a quirk. I think I can say I have accomplished that." "But hold on a second, kid," called out Present Mic, "someone must have trained you, right? Who was it?" All the teachers interests peaked and they turned to the boy, wondering the answer.Thankfully, Deku had an answer to that. "A close friend of mine teaches martial arts classes and agreed to teach me so that I could defend myself against quirk-wielding criminals", Deku replied. It was close enough to the truth to believe that the teachers accepted it, albeit disappointed he didn't know some cool Martial Arts Hero like Gunhead. "Well, it sounds like your mind is made up, Mr Silva. If that is what you wish, we won't try to change your mind." Deku said, "thank you for the opportunity," before turning around and heading out of the door.
"Well, it is a shame to see such potential lie unused. However, if he wishes to remain out of the world of heroes, that is his choice and we must respect that," Principal Nezu said to the other heroes. "I agree, Principal", All Might said, "still, I do wonder why he would give up on being a hero if he knew he was so talented." "The human mind is an enigma. We may never understand it. Now, let us view the scores of the other students." Principal Nezu said, closing discussion on the matter and moving onto the next manner of business.Deku arrived at Stains' place at 8 o'clock in the afternoon and headed inside. Stain wasn't the sleeping chambers or in the armory, however there was a note. It read, "Meet me on the balcony, kid. Have something to show you."
