Deku headed up the steps, toward the stadium's observation platforms. He wanted a good view of the exam but didn't want to be too noticeable to the students. Apparently, Aizawa had the same idea and Joke must've followed him because they were both in the ideal spot.

"Hey Eraser, your fly is down," Joke said, stifling a giggle.

"No, it isn't Joke, stop being obnoxious." Aizawa wasn't a funny person to begin with, how he put up with Joke is a mystery that may never be solved.

"No, she's right Aizawa, it is," Deku confirmed.

Aizawa's eyes widened slightly and looked down at his zipper, only to find it fully zipped. "Uugh, why am I surrounded by moronic fools?"

"C'mon Eraser, lighten up! If Aizawa Lite here is trying, you can as well," Joke laughed, eyes glancing over to Midoriya, a dry smile on his face. "Anyway, you only have 19 students this year. Did you actually expel one this year?"

"No, we had an open seat this year," Aizawa replied, watching the Hero Committee Representative explain the exam.

"That's rare. Couldn't you just stick ol' Deku in there with 'em?" Joke asked, her humor developing a slight Texan accent for some reason.

Before Aizawa could respond, Deku answered, "I have no interest in being a hero. I'm simply teaching at U.A. until my sentence is up. Then, I'll do who knows what."

"Oh." There wasn't much more to say that could portray the shock Joke felt at this information. She'd heard rumors that U.A. had hired a villain to teach their students, but she'd never believed they were true.

"Deku was selected because he has an expansive knowledge of villains, how they operate, the different varieties et cetera. Even I've learned from his lectures." Though he would never admit it, Aizawa and Deku respected each other similar to how two brothers would, and it showed (on occasion).

"Right... anyway, uh, hows about the exam, huh?" Joke asked, trying to change the subject. "It seems quite challenging this year."

"Indeed. In fact," Aizawa began, eyes narrowing, "I'd say that history may try to repeat itself."

"Yessir, I agree. Hey, why didn't you warn them?"

"Warn them? About what?" Deku leaned forward, eyebrow raised slightly in intrigue.

"The U.A. crush." Joke paused a smile on her face and a glint in her eye. "See, every year the students of different schools all gang up on the students from U.A. since they're the biggest threat to their success."

"Makes sense," Deku said, "but I think I know why they weren't told about this 'U.A. crush".

"Oh?" Joke looked at Deku from the side, curious. "How come?"

"They didn't need to be told." And with that, the Provisional Hero License Exam really kicked off.

Meanwhile, in a dark alleyway...

Stain had been following his target for quite some time. He had seen first hand that he needed to keep his distance so his investigation had been significantly slowed. Still, he had collected enough information to keep Shigaraki satisfied, for now. He decided to keep tailing him, just in case any new information came to light.

The target was currently passing through a dark alleyway, likely headed towards his base, when he stopped. Stain tensed. Why had he stopped?

"I know you're there, Hero Killer." That one sentence chilled Stain to his core. "I know you've been following me for some time. Show yourself. I'd like to talk."
