It's been a month since L last spoke to Y/n.

The last time they spoke was when he walked her home and when he made the promise. It's not like he wanted it to be this way but— Let's just go back a month ago.

After walking off he realized he made a mistake. He broke an unspoken rule most people followed. He left before ensuring Y/n got inside her house.

He pulled out his phone to text her  and within seconds she replied. She reassured him that it was okay and that she was safe then wished him goodnight. A gentle smile appeared on his face as he read the message then he put away his phone.

He walked for 10 minutes before his stomach grumbled again. Despite eating a cup full of churros, he was still hungry. So he made a detour towards the gas station.

Is that a smile on your fucking face?!

L turned around to look for the person that said that. He saw nothing but an empty lot.

And are you forgetting about me... so soon?

Again, he turned around to find the source. "Uhm hello?" He waited a few seconds for a reply and got nothing. He then proceeded into the gas station. He greeted the clerk and made his way through the aisles. As he selected his snacks a haunting thought echoed again.

You think because you moved away that you can forget about me! Forget about us?

Remember no one will ever love you! They will never put up with your pathetic ass like I did! NEVER.

After getting what he wanted, he went to the cashier. He engaged in a brief conversation with them before paying.

Oh L... you know I love you so why are you hanging around that bitch? She's no good for you... she's trying to replace me... AND I CAN'T HAVE THAT! I did so much for you!

The more they spoke the more familiar the voice was. His attention diverted in the directions the voice was coming from. He looked to his right then left. He still couldn't locate them. Unsure if this was real, he pinched himself.

He mumbled to himself like a madman, unable to believe this is happening again.

"Sir!", the clerk shouted. L attempted to regain composure, "Sorry what were you saying?"
