𝖣𝖺𝗍𝖾: 12/2022"Finally decided to show up." Emmarie said. L retorted, "I'm only doing this because you promised you'll stop."
She covered her the smirk on her face with her hand, "Sure." She was able to find out where he worked. She first showed up in the parking lot. The second time, she waited on the steps of the agency. And her third and last time, she stood in the lobby-dressed expensively as she addressed herself as his wife, taking everyone by surprise given the fact he showed up with a different woman at the office potluck.
Emmarie gestured to the seat across from her, "Why don't you take a seat?"
He didn't move. "I'm fine where I'm at."
"Oh L, why are you-"
"What do you want? And stop telling people you're my wife, did you forget that you ended our marriage?" She leaned back in her seat, twirling the wine glass in hand, "How could I? It was quite the day to remember. That look on your face was the most satisfying thing I've ever seen. It was even better than when I filed for divorce. You don't understand the pleasure I take in causing disruption to your life, and you make it so easy. But now... now you look ha-"
"Because I am."
She quirked a brow. "Is that so?"
He nodded.
"Who is she?"
He scoffed, "We're not going to do this aga- let's say I give you a name. Then what?" She smiled, "I'll make sure she-"
"You don't scare me anymore, I'm not the sa-"
"Who are you trying to convince me or yourself? Because the only difference with you is your eyes, they have life to them, and I don't like it. So answer my damn question, who is she?!"
He scoffed, "Bit-"
"If you know what's best for you, you wouldn't finish that", she interrupted.
And he did know what was best for him, so he let it go for now. But, she had one more time to say or do something to cause him to act out of character and he would for sure verbally violate her.
Everyone has their limits when it comes to disrespect, and he had endured more than enough from her.
"Since you won't give me a name, you tell whoever that woman is that she's with a man who abandoned his child."
His eyes widened, "What the fuck are you talking about?" Then it dawned on him. When they were in the grocery store parking lot. The man that called for her was holding a child.
"Yes, we have a child." She said confidently. But L wasn't a fool, "Are you sure it's mine?"
"So cruel, what makes you think it-"
