Hello everyone, it's been long since I updated and I apologize. Well, it's time to get the story going so stay tuned and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

Amara had tears in her eyes that Monday when Dad came with Kennedy to pick me up.

"I mean it when I say that school is better with you around, Nneoma".

"Thank you," I blushed.

"Daddy, I'll miss you"  she cried.

"Oh no, Amara don't behave like a child, you are a grown up now and I'm proud of you, very soon you will tread Kennedy's steps"

Kennedy smiled and stepped out of the car engulfing Amara in a hug. "Ngwa, Nneoma, say goodbye".

I walked straight to Amara and gave her a big hug. "I love you Amara"

"I love you too, be a good girl, okay? And remind Mum to visit me whenever she comes home for long alright?"

"Okay"

"Okay, time to go, Amara, manage this okay?" Kennedy handed some money to Amara before climbing into the car.

I lay on the couch pressing my phone waiting for dad and Kennedy to come back from where they went to when I saw a message from an unknown number.

"Hey Ryla?"

"Who am I speaking with?" I typed back.

"Oh, it's really you, it's Asah"

"Wow, so you finally spoke to me"

"Yes, just busy for the past few days, how's home?"

"Good, although I'm already tired of lying about, I will be starting hairstyling lessons by next week"

"My mother is teaching me how to cook then I will travel to stay with my aunty at Lagos" Asah told me.

"You are better off than me then" I teased her.

"Shut up..... Have you heard from Anderson yet?"

"No, I don't have his number"

"I will send it, you are supposed to call him based on the fact that you didn't have the chance to thank him for all he did before we left school"

"Oh ma"

Just then, a horn came at the gate and I went offline to open the gate. Kennedy drove in with dad sitting at the passenger's seat.

Kennedy got down and came to engulf me in a hug. "So Nneoma, you have decided to leave us?" He teased.

"How?" I queried arching my eyebrow.
Dad came out of the car. "Your mother wants you to stay with her for the holidays....."

I was silent, I badly wanted to stay with my mother, but I wanted to stay with Kennedy too.

"You will still learn hairstyling but from her house and Kennedy will be visiting from time to time" Dad told me.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise" he replied with a smile.

"Okay, so when do I leave?"

"Don't be so ready to leave us now"
Kennedy feigned sadness.

"You will leave tomorrow evening" Dad said with a smile.

"Okay"

I called Anderson before I left.

"What's the address of the place?" He asked when I told him where I was going to.

"What?"

"That's where I live, Ryl, if it's close, maybe we can be visiting each other" he explained.

"You gotta be kidding me.... But bad news is that I don't know.... I've never been there before, all I know is that it's so far from our house"

"Alright" he sounded down. "Call me when you get there"

"I will. Bye!"

"Good bye"

Kennedy hurled my luggages into the booth talking with dad as he did. They both looked happy that I was leaving and it made me feel jealous although I was very sure they would miss me badly.

"Nneoma, are you ready to go?" Kennedy asked me as he closed the booth securely.

"Yes" I muttered.

"You know mummy would spoil you silly so I don't understand why your face is like this" Kennedy said.

"I know.... I know" I sighed.

"Good, let's get going"

We hit the road in a few minutes time, stopped at a restaurant to get a few snacks to munch while we continued. The journey was quite long and boring.

Mum worked at one of the big organizations at the outskirts of the city. It's a pity that I don't know exactly what she worked as but she's earning money.

It was nearly past seven pm when dad pulled the car to a stop in front of a tall building, we had been on the road for three hours and I was nearly dozing when we arrived.

We all got down and dad led the way into the building, it was bustling with activities as people of different kinds moved about.

"Daddy, what's this place?"

"A rescue operation team..... Your mother is an emergency nurse and she sometimes goes on operations"

"Wow" I gasped.

"Yeah" Kennedy smirked.

He led us to a lift that took us to the top floor.

Mum was beside a man who was clicking away at his computer and she didn't notice us until Dad hugged her from behind, she hugged him back happily lingering in his embrace, it was obvious that she missed us when she pulled me and Kennedy into the hug.

"How are you guys doing?"

"We are good" Dad answered. "What about you?"

"I'm about to round up then we will go to the apartment just after I check on my patient okay?"

"Okay" we chorused.

She left to check on her patient then pull off her work clothes and changed into a more comfortable outfit.

"Set to go" she announced with a grin.

I smiled and took her hands as we walked to the car.

"Do you always close around this time?" I asked.

"No" she replied. "Maybe earlier or later if there's an emergency"

"Are you sure you will be able to handle Nneoma? It's a lot of work" Dad asked her.

"I know and I will be fine" she replied.

Kennedy whispered to me. "What does dad mean by saying it's a lot of work.... Nneoma, e be like say you dey give trouble o"

I chuckled and eyed him playfully as we all entered the car with Dad and Mum conversing quietly.

Done and dusted.
