The next day

AMELIAS POV
I woke up to my alarm and I had such a headache. I remembered last night and sighed. I wiped the dried tears from my face and got up. I had to go to class which sucked. That's the last thing I wanted to do. I grabbed my backpack and threw my notebooks in and changed my clothes. The bathroom door opened and it was Kai. They looked over at me but didn't say anything. I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and then quickly left. I ran downstairs and grabbed a quick coffee and then started walking to class. I don't know if I should avoid Kai. They didn't do anything wrong. It was me. But I feel like I would hurt being around them knowing I can't have them. I walked into my class and sat down next to Charlotte. She looked up from her laptop and looked at me.
"Are you okay?" She whispered.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Okay," she said. She didn't question anything else and we started the class.

KAIS POV
I'm trying not to be upset about what happened. I don't even know what happened. Amelia came home upset last night and said that we needed to end things. Charlotte said she was with a guy. I immediately assumed the worst happened and that was my fault. Maybe I made her upset. Maybe she likes this guy? Maybe she didn't want me anymore. I don't know. I wanted to talk to her this morning but she practically ran out of here before I could even say good morning. I was walking out of my first lecture for the day and decided to go to the library. I grabbed lunch and sat down at a table and started some homework in between classes. I wish I knew what I did wrong with Amelia.
-
I was starting to get worried about Amelia. It was almost 10PM. I hadn't seen her all day. I was going to give her until 10:30 before I called her. This was so unlike her. I'm telling myself that she had a busy day and she's just somewhere studying or with Charlotte to calm my mind. I got in the shower and brushed my teeth after. I changed into pajamas and laid out my clothes for the next morning. Around 10:15 I heard the door open. I turned and it was Amelia. It was obvious that she had been crying, and she looked exhausted. She threw her stuff on the ground and walked into the bathroom and slammed the door. I waited up in my bed for her to come back out. Once the door opened Amelia wiped her tears with her sleeve and got in her bed.
"Hey," I said gently.
"Hi," she said. She had her lamp on so I could see her. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying. Her face was red too. The bags under her eyes were noticeable.
"You alright?" I asked as I rolled over and faced her.
"Yeah," she nodded.
"Okay," I said.
"Just tired," she said.
"Okay," I said. I didn't believe her but I wasn't going to argue with her.
-
I woke up to my alarm going off. Ugh. Class. I rolled over and Amelia was already gone. She must be avoiding me. Her class started after mine. I got up and got ready and eventually left on time. As I was walking down the hallway I my phone buzzed. Maybe it was Amelia. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and it was just my mom. No Amelia.
"How're things going?" My mom sent.
"Good! Like my classes a lot," I sent.
"Great! How's your roommate?" My mom sent.
"She's good," I sent. I couldn't knock the feeling that I did something wrong. I kissed her at that party and an hour later she was in tears. I shouldn't have. I might have ruined this forever.

AMELIAS POV
"Tell me what happened," Charlotte said. I was laying next to her in her bed. Violet was at class so it was just the two of us.
"Kai kissed me at the party," I said, "they asked if it was okay before they did. It was fine, I liked it."
"Okay," Charlotte said.
"And then Kai wanted to go play beer pong with a few of their friends so I went looking for you or Violet so I'd have someone to dance with. I walked into the hallway and that's when Link grabbed my arm. I didn't really know him, I mean I still don't. He yelled at me that I was a freak and disgusting because he saw me kissing Kai. I guess he wanted to kiss me I don't know," I said.
"Did he hurt you?" Charlotte said and looked at me.
"No," I said, "he just yelled at me, and then I saw you and we went back to the dorm."
"Did you tell Kai what happened?" Charlotte asked.
"No," I admitted, "and then I told them we needed to stop seeing each other."
"Why?" Charlotte asked.
"I don't want to hurt them by telling them what Link said. It's not their fault. I wanted to kiss them. I want to be out, but hearing what Link said made me remember that it isn't easy, and that my mom would never approve. It made me want to curl up and a hole and not come out. So I just broke it off with Kai to protect them from that," I sighed.
"Have you spoken to them since?" Charlotte asked.
"No," I said, "I've kinda been avoiding the room. I feel bad."
"I think you need to tell them what happened," Charlotte said.
"I just know they must hate me," I frowned, "they probably wish they never got involved."
"You know that's not true," Charlotte said, "We both know that Kai has a thing for you, and you need to be honest with them if you want it to work."
