AMELIAS POV
I had to do something nice for Kai. They've done everything for me. I've felt bad about everything that's happened recently. I just want things to go back to normal. And they are a bit. We're working through things. I walked to the nearest convenience store and picked out a flower bouquet. I actually don't know if Kai likes flowers but I got their favorite candy too. I grabbed a card too and wrote a little message inside.

Kai,
A little something for the one who loves me the most. I appreciate you more than you'll ever know.

I love you <3

Amelia

I paid for everything and started walking back to the dorm. They should be in the room if not at the library. I got out of the elevator and unlocked the door and sure enough they were sitting on their laptop working on some homework. They turned their head when they heard the door open.
"I got you a little something," I smiled and handed them the flowers. I set the candy and card down on the desk and Kai smiled.
"These are beautiful. What's the occasion?" Kai said confused.
"I wanted to thank you for all you've done the past few days," I said.
"You don't have to thank me," Kai said and kissed my forehead.
"Yes I did," I said.
"Well thank you, the flowers are beautiful and the chocolate looks delicious," they said. They opened the card and smiled.
"I love you," Kai said.
"I love you too," I said, "and I mean it. Truly. Thank you for everything." They brought me into a hug and kissed my head.
"I'm just grateful everyday that you're safe," they said.
-
"Kai," I said. I was laying in bed doing homework and Kai was sitting at their desk working on something.
"Yes sweetheart?" Kai said. Sweetheart. I loved it.
"Can we grab food?" I chuckled.
"Yeah," Kai nodded, "let me grab my jacket." I got out of bed and the two of us walked down the hall and out the doors to the dining hall. I grabbed Kai's hand and they smiled.
"I'm really glad you're okay," Kai said.
"I'm really glad we're okay," I said.
"Of course we're okay," Kai said, "I love you."
"And I love you," I said. We grabbed food and sat down at a table together.
"What are you doing for spring break?" Kai asked. Spring break was in a month. I felt myself sink into my seat.
"I was gonna apply for extended housing and stay here. It's only a week. And Meredith and Derek have a 4 day conference in San Diego so I can't stay with them," I shrugged.
"Do you want to come with me to Minnesota?" Kai offered.
"Kai I can't impose on you and your family," I said, "I really do appreciate it though."
"My family doesn't care. And anyway, my parents want to meet you," Kai said, "so fly out with me for spring break, you can stay with us."
"They want to meet me?" I asked.
"Of course they do. They want to meet the person that makes me so happy," they said, "and I talk about you all the time so they are dying to meet you."
"Okay," I said with a smile, "if it's completely fine with your parents and I'm not imposing on them I will go with you. And thank you."
"You don't have to thank me," Kai said, "I don't want you to stay here alone and I don't want you to go back to your mother."
"I appreciate it," I said.
"And anyway you can finally meet my cat," Kai said, "and my plants."
"I'm excited," I smiled.
