CHARLOTTES POV
Something was up with Amelia and Kai. I don't know what. But every time I've been with them in the past week it's been awkward. They must have had a big fight I don't know. I was currently sitting at the library with Kai, we were waiting for Amelia to get out of class.
"Do you know when Amelia's class ends?" I asked them.
"I think 3:30," Kai said. I looked at my watch. 3 o'clock.
"Is everything alright?" I asked. Kai looked up from their laptop and looked at me.
"Why?" Kai asked.
"Oh you just seem quiet," I said.
"Can I ask you something?" Kai asked. I nodded.
"Yeah," I said.
"Does Amelia tell you things?" Kai asked, "like does she confide in you?"
"Yeah," I said, "about some stuff. Why?"
"I feel like sometimes she doesn't want to tell me things, so I'm glad she has someone. I worry about her," Kai said.
"Did something happen?" I asked. Their expression changed.
"No," Kai said.
"Okay," I said. Kai fell silent as they looked down at their keyboard.
"Do you?" I asked, "have someone to confide in?"
"My mom sometimes. But you know moms. Can't tell them everything," Kai shrugged.
"Is there anything you want to tell me?" I asked.
"It's TMI," Kai said.
"I don't care," I said.
"Amelia and I haven't had sex in weeks and I'm afraid she's hiding something," Kai said.
"Like?" I said.
"I'm afraid she's hurting herself in some way," Kai admitted, "I don't want to accuse her but, I feel like she's feeling insecure about something and won't let me see her. We obviously don't have to have sex all the time that's not what I mean, I just, I feel like somethings off with her."
"Kai, I know something happened that day that you texted me and asked me about Amelia. I don't know what, but clearly something happened. If you think she's hiding something, you need to ask her. If you think she's in trouble, you need to confront her, and if you need help, you can call me," I said. Kai nodded.
"Thank you," they said.

KAIS POV
I got back to the room with Amelia.
"How was your day?" Amelia asked as she kissed me.
"Good, how was yours?" I asked as I kissed her back.
"Good," she smiled. She was happy. She wasn't hurting herself right? I couldn't think about that right now because we were making out. We made our way over to the bed and I climbed on top of her. My hand grazed her hip and I felt her freeze. I quickly removed my hand from her exposed skin from her shirt riding up.
"I don't want to," she said.
"Okay," I nodded, "that's fine." I laid down next to her in silence. I can't knock the feeling that she's hiding something.
"Did I do something that you never want to have sex anymore?" I asked. Her expression changed.
"No," she said, "no why would you say that."
"I just feel like we never do anymore. It's fine like obviously our relationship is so much more than that, but I feel like you're pulling back" I said, "are you okay?"
"Yeah," she said, "yeah sorry I just, I guess I just haven't been in the mood lately."
"That's okay," I said.
"It's nothing about you I promise," Amelia said. I had to ask.
"Are you harming yourself?" I asked.
"Why would you think that?" Amelia said.
"Well I don't know. You just seem like you don't want me to see anything," I said. She didn't say anything. She didn't deny it. I looked at her and this was dangerous. She was in danger.
"I need to see that you're not or I won't be able to sleep knowing that I know you're hurting yourself," I said. She looked stunned.
"Uh," she said, "alright." She rolled up her sleeves and I let out a sigh of relief. She got up and took her jeans off and I felt like I could breathe. She was telling the truth. She even showed me her stomach. Clean. She wasn't harming herself.
"I'm telling the truth," she said, "I promise."
"I believe you," I said, "I'm sorry I didn't trust you."
"I don't blame you for not trusting me," Amelia said.
"I was just worried sick that you were hiding scars or something, I'm sorry I shouldn't have assumed," I said.
"You we're concerned, I get it," she said, "I just haven't been in the mood lately. I'm sorry. I've just been busy scrambling to get my life back together that I've been feeling exhausted these past few days. It doesn't have to do with my attraction to you or anything, just me being a little tired lately."
"That's okay," I said. I pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and kissed her cheek.
"I love you," Amelia said.
"I love you too," I said.
"Thank you for caring so much about me," Amelia said.
"I will always care for you," I said.
