AMELIAS POV
I opened my eyes and the sun was coming into our room. I rolled over and Kai's bed was neatly made. They were sitting at their desk looking over some papers. I looked at the clock and it was almost noon. I sat up and pulled my hair into a bun and Kai looked up from their papers.
"Morning," Kai said.
"Morning," I said, "how long have you been up?"
"Since 7," Kai said, "I said goodbye to my parents this morning before their flight and I couldn't fall back asleep."
"Fun," I said, "I'm not a morning person."
"I see that," they chuckled, "are you hungry?"
"Yeah a little," I said.
"I was going to go to the dining hall soon to grab some food if you wanted to come," Kai offered.
"That would be good," I said, "can I take a quick shower?"
"Go for it," Kai said. I grabbed my shower stuff and walked into our bathroom. We had our own bathroom which was nice so we didn't have to go into the hall to use it. I turned the shower water on and showered. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself and brushed my teeth. I opened the door and forgot for a second Kai was there. I was just in a towel and suddenly felt super embarrassed and self conscious.

KAIS POV
I heard the bathroom door open. I looked over in the direction of Amelia and she had wrapped herself in a towel.
"Oh sorry," I said quickly and looked back down at my computer.
"It's okay," she said shyly as she grabbed clothes and changed in the bathroom. She came back out a few minutes later ready and we started walking to the dining hall. We sat down and started eating. I noticed Amelia was really quiet. She seemed like she hated talking about feelings, or what was bothering her.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Hm?" She said and looked up from her food.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah sorry," she said.
"Stop apologizing," I chuckled.
"You're going to hate me after living with me for a whole year," she chuckled.
"I won't hate you," I said.
"I don't know I'm kind of annoying," she shrugged.
"Doubt it," I said.
"You've only know me for a little over a week," she chuckled, "trust me."
"I'm annoying too," I said, "don't worry."
"You seem so organized and like you have your life together. I'm jealous," She said.
"I'm glad I've fooled you," I chuckled, "we all have something, don't worry about it."
"Okay," she said.
"Is your food good?" I asked. She nodded.
"Yours?" She asked.
"Yeah it's pretty good," I said. We finished lunch and walked back to the dorm. It was about a 10 minute walk. I looked over at Amelia who looked like she was still hurting. I don't know if it's still about her ex girlfriend, or anything else she has going on, but I wish she would talk to me.

AMELIAS POV
I was sitting at my desk organizing all my school supplies. I felt my phone buzz and I looked over and it was a text from Arizona. I opened it.
"Can we talk?" It read. We had been broken up for about 6 months. Nothing horrible happened. She didn't cheat on me. She didn't do anything wrong. I got into drugs at the end of my senior year and she left me. It hurt but I understood. I wouldn't have wanted to be with me either, but now I'm sober and trying to start over. I don't hate her, but I don't know if I want to go back. It's not her fault that she left, but she didn't stay when I needed her the most.
"I'm really sorry but I don't want to get back together. I'm trying to move on, I'm sorry for what I did a few months ago but I need to focus on myself. I still love you but I don't want to get back together. I'm really sorry Arizona, I never meant to hurt you," I sent. I bit my lip as I shut my phone off and let out a sigh, of course forgetting Kai was in the room. They looked up at me.
"Don't ask," I said.
"Okay," they nodded. My phone buzzed and it was Arizona.
"Okay. I'm sorry for leaving you. I wish you well and hope you're okay. I love you," she sent. I plugged my phone in and tried not to think about it. I finished organizing my things for class tomorrow and I eventually got into my bed. I pulled the covers over myself and softly cried into my pillow. All I wanted was a fresh start.
