Spoilers, guys. Don't read this unless y'all have seen the Marineford arc.

I couldn't believe the news, they were executing the famous "Fire Fist" Ace. He was my fiance. We had been close for years, but the one time I let him go off by himself he gets injured and turned in. I got news from one of the other pirates on Whitebeard's ship.

"YN! Hey you need to check out the newspaper!" He yelled. "Hmm? What's going on?" I asked, looking outside the window of the small home Ace and I shared. "It's about Ace! He's been caught!" The man yelled. My eyes grew wide in surprise. "Are you serious?!" I yelled. "Tell me you're joking!" I yelled, quickly slipping on shoes and running outside. The fellow pirate chucked me a newspaper, and sure enough, the words I had dreaded seeing for years. "Portgas D. Ace captured, public execution in a few days from now." I could feel tears well up in my eyes, then a surge of anger and determination surged through my body. "I have to find him. I'm not letting him get executed." I said, holding the newspaper in my clenched fist. "What are you going to do? You barely even have a bounty! How are you going to stop the biggest event in pirate history?!" The man asked. "I have my ways. I'll be able to rescue him if I tried!" I said, quickly putting on a coat. "Do you know where he's being executed?" I asked rather quickly. "The navy headquarters at Marineford, but I doubt you'd make it on time!" He said.

I shoved him away and I ran towards the dock, where I hoped to sneak on a Marine ship. When I got to the dock, I saw a few Marines standing in front of the ship. I ran up to the place where the men were standing. "Excuse me, I want to attend the public execution of Ace, do you think I could get a ride on your ship?" I asked. The Marines looked at me in suspicion. "What harm could this random lady do? Alright hop on. Just try to hide from our boss, he wouldn't be very happy with us for letting you on." He said. I smiled wide. "Thank you thank you!" I yelled in an appreciative manner.

We later arrived on Marineford after four days. I gave the Marines a hundred berries each, and a few pieces of candy I always keep on me. I quickly ran towards the middle of the town where I knew Ace would be.

I thought back to how we first met. I fell off my Marine ship and washed ashore where I was rescued by the man who would eventually become the love of my life. We were inseparable for years until he finally proposed. Then he got into this mess and I'm the one saving him.

I nudged my way to the front of the crowd where I saw my beloved being dragged to the pedestal where he'd be executed. My heart dropped as I saw the look on his precious face. "Ace..." I said under my breath. When he noticed me in the crowd, he smiled a weak smile then looked back down at the ground.

They took Ace up to the podium and they chained him down. I raced over to the base of the podium. "What am I gonna do... I came all the way here but I'm basically helpless." I said, sighing. Then, from out of nowhere, the podium began to collapse. "Ace!" I yelled, racing towards the collapsed pieces of podium. He shook his weak hands as he noticed the handcuffs were gone. "YN... you came to my rescue." He said, laying his head on my shoulder. "Ace... we have to get out of here." I said, helping him up. Luffy, Ace's brother, then emerged from the crowd. "Hey! Ace!" He yelled. "Luffy!" He yelled.

A man, an Admiral who was wearing a Hawaiian style shirt got up from his chair. He turned and looked at Ace and I, then looked over at Luffy with a vicious look on his face. "The Marines will not allow this, we have to run, YN." Ace said, holding onto my shoulder.

I punched a Marine next to me and grabbed his sword. "Come on, Ace, let's go." I said, gently smiling at him. Marines chased after the two of us, and Luffy was attempting to fight the Admiral. A look of dread went over Ace's face as he realized what was going on. "We have to save Luffy!" Ace yelled. I stayed silent for a moment. "YN please..." he said, holding onto my shirt. "Ok, but if either of us gets hurt I'm booking it and we're getting out of here." I said, clenching the sword in my hand.

Ace and I raced towards the place where Luffy was fighting the Admiral. Ace dashed towards Luffy as he was about to get hit with a clearly fatal attack. I grabbed Ace's hand and whipped him away. "Damnit Ace! Be more careful!" I yelled, angry at my fiance. "Sorry, sorry." He said, a smile on his face.

I threw the sword at him and it hit the top of his arm and distracted him for a moment. I pulled both Ace and Luffy away, then ran down to the dock. "Come on guys we have to go!" I yelled, dragging the two.

I threw myself on a Marine ship and I grabbed the wheel as the people on the island shot at us.

Eventually we made it out of their range and I came down to the deck where I had sat Ace down. He gave me a weak and upset smile. I sat down next to him and I put my hand on his shoulder. "Listen, I'm not mad at you, ok?" I said, smiling kindly at him. He gently put his arms around me. "Thank you. I love you so so much." He said, holding me close. "Aw Ace, I love you too. Just promise me you won't get in trouble like this ever again." I said, kissing his cheek. Ace smiled at me and he laid down in my arms and fell asleep. "I love you..." I said, holding the tired boy in my arms as we sailed off, hopefully to an island where the both of us would be safe.
