Hello fellow people! We have hit ten Vinsmoke Niji One Shots! I love Niji, he's my favorite, so enjoy number ten for our favorite little Vinsmoke boy.
Around a year ago:
"Do you, Vinsmoke Niji, take YN LN as your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"And YN LN, do you take Vinsmoke Niji as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do"
"Now, under the power vested in me, I declare you two husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Present day:
The day of my arranged marriage felt like it was so long ago. Like I had been married for decades when in reality I has simply been married for just over a year.
Niji and I were not married optionally, we were forced into it. Both coming from royal families, we had no choice in the matter, so the two of us were married and that was it.
I sat in the room Niji and I shared that was, from head to toe, covered in frilly blue garbage. I sighed as I searched the room looking for some sign of something normal when the door opened, and there stood my blue haired husband, who was visibly a little bit of a mess. "Welcome back, love." I said, somewhat sarcastically. "No need for formalities, YN." He said, slamming himself on the bed.
I stared at my blue shell of a husband and sighed. 'What is the point of being married to someone without emotions?' I asked myself, staring at the man with discust in my eyes. "Ugh, YN can you go get me an apple or something..?" He asked, laying tiredly on the bed. "Why can't you get it yourself?" I asked him, frowning at the boy. "I don't feel like it." He said, laying there. He then threw the blanket over his face and proceeded to continue to lay there.
I angrily stomped off to the kitchen where I knew I'd find some sort of fruit for my bratty husband. I went into the fridge, grabbed a fruit, then went back upstairs and crept into the room. "Hey, Niji." I said, getting his attention. Niji got up and turned towards me, then I proceeded to chuck the apple at him. "There's your damned apple." I said, sighing at him.
"Why are you like this today?! You're never in this type of mood?!" He yelled, angrily getting up from the bed. I could feel tears gather up in my eyes and I whipped around to face him. "You have never loved me... You can't love me!" I yelled, grabbing onto the tall man's shirt. "Wha- YN what do you mean?" He asked, sounding confused. "A marriage is supposed to be based on love and a strong relationship, what we have is the opposite of that, and it's been driving me crazy ever since they made us get married." I said, staring directly at the blue-haired man.
I sunk to my knees and let go of his shirt. "Why won't you just love me..?" I asked, tears finally starting to fall. Niji stared at me, the look in his eyes different than usual. "YN..?" He asked. I noticed a small hint of worry in his voice. "What?" I asked, my voice sharp towards him. "I'm sorry, YN. I have been told I'll never experience love or anything along those lines." He said, the expression on his face the same. "Of course, I knew that." I said, even more upset than before. "But we have to make the most of it." He continued. "I know I can't feel love, but I know I want to protect you, YN. I hope that matters at least a little to you." He said, blankly looking at me as I cried angrily at him.
"I'm sorry Niji, I know you can't change anything." I said, wiping off my eyes. Niji crouched down to my level, then pulled me into a tight hug. "Don't worry. I expected it at some point." He whispered gently to me.
I leaned into his hug and sat with Niji, trying to gain some, any sort of acceptance that this man who I genuinely loved, would never love me back.
