While walking to class with Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan the new kid called your name. You ignored him keeping your head down. After the year you had with them before your friendship with them had grown.

Steve stepped in front of you as Billy got closer, he set his hand on your shoulder. You flinched away and hid yourself behind Steve.

"Get out of here." Steve snapped as Billy tried to get around him. "I said get out of here!"

Billy growled as he tried to push past him. "I want to talk to (y/n)."

"Why?" You asked from behind Steve, Jonathan held your shoulder protectively.

Billy looked at you with sad eyes. "I want to talk, that's it."

"Then talk. Anything you want to say you can say with them around." You reply as you run your hand over your (h/c) hair. They had become your family after the hell your all been through. Billy huffed, bit down on his lip, and walked away. He was ruggedly handsome but he scared you, with his Douchy demeanor and his angry walk.

You saw Billy around school most of the day but he didn't dare come near you with your 'guard dogs.'

The school bell rang, you quickly began to head towards Jonathan's car to get a ride home. As you turned a corner you were grabbed by the hand. "Ahh.." You shouted as you were pulled into the janitor's closet. "B..Billy."

"I want to talk." He hesitated, "Please."

You were surprised he was kind, you nodded. "The bruises. Where are they from?" He turned over your arm rolling up your sleeves. "Please tell me."

You felt sadness and fear rush over you, you were surprised he even noticed them. Most people didn't. "I..B.Billy I can't..I.."

"Please." He looked you over with intense need, you felt tears slip down your cheeks. "(Y/N) please."

"My dad." You hiccuped. "Girls at school, and a boy too." You were severely unpopular and on occasion (almost daily) someone would hit you, or take a stab at your self esteem. Even with your found family they managed to do it when no one was looking.

"Who?" Billy asked, his brows were furrowed, his grip on your wrist soft but firm. His eyes shifted over you with intensity.

You told him the names and he stormed out of the closet, you left the room running into a terrified Jonathan. "Oh there you are I thought you were..why are you crying?"

Your friends did not know of what you were going through, you had hid it well, but somehow not well enough from Billy, and you did not know how he found out. "No reason. I just...Flashbacks from last year."

"Oh..hey come here." Jonathan took you into his arms, he was awkward and goofy but kind. He had become your brother, and so had his little brother. You followed him to the car when you saw Billy with a younger girl, she had bright orange hair and blue eyes.

"Who is that with Billy?" You asked narrowing your eyes as the girl held up her skateboard.

"His sister Max. Will and his friends talk about her a ton."

"Oh." You didn't know he had a sister, you hardly knew him however.

"Yeah."

You were dropped off at home, you went to head up the stairs when your father spotted you, he tossed his beer bottle at you. You let out a cry as you ran to your room. "You better get down here bitch."

You sat against the door. You heard his footsteps on the floor, your heart beat began to quicken. Mustering you all the strength you had you pushed your bed against the door, you knew it was risky but you had to get out of the house. Any hesitation about your next plan shattered as the door began to move despite your barricade, throwing open the window you grabbed onto the closest tree branch.

You managed to get down, the moment your feet touched the dead grass you booked it, fear filling your every step, you could hear his yells as you took a right up the hill.

You screamed as you tripped over a rock. Tumbling down the hill your clothes became filthy, dirt and leaves decorated your heaving body. You came to stop hitting your head on a tree.

Pulling yourself up off the ground you ran your hand over your forehead. Blood covered your fingers, you took a deep breath and began to run to Nancy's house.

As you showered your running you heard the rev of an engine, you looked up to see Billy's car.

The car instantly stopped. "(Y/N) get in the car please." Billy yelled to you calmly, you got in the car, as he drove to his house you noticed his shirt was unbuttoned further than usual. "What happened?"

"He tossed a beer bottle at me, I ran. Tripped." You replied softly.

"When we get to my house I will clean you up." Billy promised softly setting his hand on your knee.

You got to his house and he checked to make sure no one was home, Max was at the arcade. "Sit on my bed, I will be right back." Billy said.

As he returned he cleaned your wound and bandaged it up. "I..I am sorry.." He suddenly stopped when he heard the door handle turn. He pushed you in his closet. You stood between his clothes and whatever else was within.

You heard sounds then a voice. "Billy where is Max?"

"The arcade." He replied, his usually strong voice was quivering.

"Why?"

"She wanted to go. So I dropped her off."

"Her chores are not done."

"She said she would do them when she gets home."

Suddenly you heard a crash, then the closet you were in was slammed against. "Did you ask to take her?"

"N.no." Billy whispered.

"I can't hear you." You heard the sound of someone being slapped.

"No sir!" Billy replied loudly.

"Good, now when she gets home you will help her with her chores and cook her dinner. I am headed out to dinner with Susan. Now get."

You realized why Billy knew, because he had gone through what you did. The two of you had both been harmed.

"You can come out now." You slowly slipped out and saw a tear running down his cheek. You hugged him tight.

"Billy.."

"I..he does it to me, that's how I know." He said as the two of you sat down on the bed, you laid your head on his shoulder as he petted your hair carefully as the two of you cried together.

"(Y/N) will you just give me a chance?" He asked. "I seem like an ass but I use the tough exterior to hide my pain."

You did not reply with words, but rather you kissed him. As the two of you pulled away he smiled, he kissed your forehead. "I take that as a yes?"

"Yes." He hugged you tightly. The two of you did his and Max chores as well as cooked dinner together, he went to pick up Max while you finished dinner and plated. Max sat down with a smile seeing you there, her friends talked about you a lot knowing you were their older sibling friend.

"How was the arcade?" You asked with a smile.

"It was good," she smiled, "thanks for doin' my chores."

You nodded smiling, the three of you ate and small talked. Once you all finished Billy sent Max to her room to do her homework since the two of you got chores done together. You began to wash dishes while Billy came up beside you. He kissed your cheek again softly with a smile. "We owe it to each other to become friends.. maybe more?"

Billy nodded with a soft smile. "Sorry I shoved you in the closet."

"Don't be sorry, you saved me."

He smiled and pulled you into another hug. "I should probably go to Nancy's but maybe another time when Max isn't home?" You raised an eyebrow with a smile.

His mouth opened wide before he smiled and kissed your forehead once more. "I'd like that."
