The elementary classroom was covered in pink hearts and frilly fake lace. The first graders were overly excited about their valentines day party. They had candy, cards, or toys to pass out between one another. They all had boxes for their treats most parents made and had them decorate.

Ciri and Judith were desk partners. The young blonde and brunette both had a parent volunteer with them that day along with a few other kids. The two girls bonded over having two dad, while Ciri did have a mother as well Judith only had her two fathers. Ciri was an only child while Judith was the youngest of two.

Jaskier smiled looking down at his child, he was happy to see her have some friends. He noticed Judith's dad looking over the cards Judith had painstakingly decorated in glitter pens for each of her friends and the other classmates. Jaskier had heard of Judith's parents; he had been surprised to hear another kid in Ciri's class had two fathers. The man was in a bikers jacket with wings on the back, his long hair resembled his own however his was much cleaner than the other father.

The two men watched over their daughters while they chittered and talked about the treats on the table. A bell rang and all the kids excitedly lined up. "Recess!" Their teacher, Mrs. Greene, called. "Parents can stay inside, it won't be very long."

The kids raced out to play leaving the parents to sit and chat. Jaskier sat on the small chair for the first graders and Daryl awkwardly made himself fit, he had the back of the chair in front of him using it to rest his arm on.

"So you're of Ciri's dads?" Daryl asked, raising a brow. "Judith talks about you guys sometimes, I'm never around for pick up so you probably have met my husband Rick."

"Actually Rick would probably have either met my wife Yennefer, or my husband Geralt. I don't get to do pick-up much."

Daryl smirked a bit. "That would make sense, you aren't the 'body builder' type."

"Your husband said that about mine?" Jaskier chuckled. "I suppose he does look it."

"So you're the musician then." Daryl inquired trying to remember what Judith and Rick have said of Ciri and her family.

"That would be me, in the flesh." Jaskier replied. "You hunt?"

"When I can swing it, but I've got two kids and a job to worry about. So not as often as I'd like. Judith doesn't like the huntin' much and Carl's in the too cool for my family phase."

"How old is Carl? We only have Ciri."

"Twelve, Judith was a bit of a surprise if I'm bein' honest." He sighed looking down at himself. "Carl is from my husband's first marriage but I love him like my own. I'm trans, so I had Jude myself. We weren't plannin' on having any more but I wouldn't trade her for the world."

Jaskier smiled softly looking Daryl over. "Are you going to have another?

"Oh no...," Daryl chuckled, "two is plenty for Rick and I. He's got a busy schedule and so do I, plus I made sure I couldn't have another after Jude. I wouldn't mind fostering or even adopting if we were given the option but for now I think two is plenty. What about you guys, is Ciri the one and only?"

"I'm not sure, Yennefer was a great pregnant person but our lifestyles have changed since Ciri. I'm getting gigs and Yennefer has a shop of her own now. She owns a curiosity shop, sells crystals and other things you know. Geralt finally has a stable job too so all together its been pretty good. Another child is possible, but for now I don't plan on it."

"That makes sense, I love little kids but being a parent is hard work that is for sure."

Jaskier nodded, listening to him. "I think we should get the girls together to play."

"We should." Daryl agreed. "It would be good to finally put faces to the people my girl's always chatting about. Does Ciri have an off button because Jude does not."

"No, no she does not. I don't help much though." He chuckled. "I think Geralt and Yennefer tell the two of us to lower our voices more than they tell her."

Daryl laughed a bit. "We got a dog a little bit ago, I'm sure you've heard from Ciri because Judith doesn't stop talking about him but I think I have to tell the two of them to be quiet compared to just Judith."

Jaskier smiled, he liked Daryl. He was nice, and seemed pretty chill. He was also lucky to have the information about the man and his daughter.

The bell rang and the kids came running.Jaskier and Daryl stood up moving from the children's seats and began to help with the party as intended. They passed out cookies and helped the kids pour drinks. Judith and Ciri were happy to see their parents getting along, that meant more playdates and making their parents friends.

Daryl smiled softly as Judith and Ciri gave each other's fathers a pink heart cookie. The two first graders sat beside one another and began to go through their cards, toys, and treats. It was finally time for the parents to head home before the end of the day. "Would you want to get a coffee or something while we wait for them to finish the day?" Daryl asked.

Jaskier smirked. "I could go for a coffee."
