L/Light - Sleepless Nights

Notes - Light isn't Kira

Trying to find out who Kira was drained the whole group. Light and L stayed up night and day to try and find out who was killing people in some sort of mysterious way. Neither understood how it was even possible, but the two were determined to figure it out.

The two were tired but they worked through the night until Light's eyelids began to grow heavy. He leaned into L not even meaning to and began to sleep. L smiled a soft bit looking down at Light. He had grown fond of him after all these days and sleepless nights working together. There were no leads and at this moment he didn't much mind that he was sleeping on him.

L slowly readjusted before picking him up and carrying him bridal style up to his room. Light hardly budged in his arms as he was carried up the stairs and laid on the soft material. L slid in beside Light wrapping him in his arms.

He knew he probably shouldn't be doing it, but it felt right. It felt like it was meant to be. L usually didn't sleep much, but feeling the rise and fall of Light's chest made him want to accept the call of sleep.

The two snuggled into one another, Light subconsciously while L consciously. L eventually succumbed to the call of sleep.

Light woke as sunlight rushed into the room. He turned over and jumped in a bit of surprise noticing L wrapped around him. "L..L." Light whispered softly pushing on his chest a soft bit. L slowly woke and looked down at Light smirking softly.

"Hey... we should get back to work."

"How did I get here?"

"I carried you up." L remarked. "You're pretty light, Light-Kun."

Light studied his face for a moment, his hand still wrapped around his waist. "I'm sorry for falling asleep during the investigation."

"By my calculations we were both sleep deprived. We cannot properly conduct this search for the killer without sleep." He stated softly as he finally moved. "Are you okay, your face is red."

Light swallowed roughly. "I'm... I- Yes L.. I am fine. I just am surprised by how we are.. By this.."

"I'm sorry I could have laid in another place, or put you on the couch. It was unkind of me to thi-."

Light pushed himself upwards bringing their lips together. L mumbled into the kiss before he finally returned it. "Light-kun?"

"I love you L.. I've been trying to figure out how to tell you... and I- I've just been struggling because I wasn't sure if you wanted me too... I- L I hope you feel the same way.. I'm sorry I should have asked I ju-."

L smirked and pulled Light into another desperate kiss. "I feel the same way, now let's get back to work. We need to find out who Kira is."

Light smiled, Ryuzaki was the name he had to use with him everywhere else, but in secret together he could call him by his real name and that meant a lot. That they had a shared secret, who L really was and now they had each other. In more ways than just being work partners.
