Lambert/Jaskier - Carnival Date - SAWB

Jaskier was looking over the many booths, Lambert following mere inches behind him. Lambert loved watching him, he was always so excited. They walked past the other carnival booths before Jaskier's eyes grew wide.

"Look!" Jaskier was bouncing up and down. "Look at how cute the teddy bear is!"

Lambert grinned, he wanted to show off his skills and get his boyfriend a prize. Jaskier was shaking with excitement, Lambert smiled as they stepped up to the game booth.

"Welcome welcome," the booth handler smiled as he ran his hand over the booth. "Would you like to play? Win the fine gentlemen a prize?"

Jaskier blushed a bit, Lambert cleared his throat. "I'd love to play to win my boyfriend one of these cute bears."

Jaskier was smiling big, his hands shaking a bit in anticipation. Lambert handed over his two dollars and was handed the three rings to try and get around the neck on the red bottle. The other bottles were clear. Jaskier watched as Lambert tossed the first ring, it hit the rim of the red bottle. It made a 'dink' kind of sound and dropped to the floor. Lambert grumbled, he swore it should have made it on. He tossed the next plastic ring and it again hit the mouth of the red bottle. "Shit."

"It's okay." Jaskier promised, squeezing his shoulder.

"It doesn't feel okay." Lambert muttered. "I should have made that."

"You've got this." Jaskier promised. "I know you do."

Lambert smiled big, he loved how trusting and supportive Jaksier was of him. Lambert tossed the last ring and it landed perfectly, but it began to spin before it slipped off.

"Oh so close." The carnival worker chuckled, snapping his fingers. "Play again?"

Lambert was frustrated that should have been a win. "Yes."

Jaskier chuckled, now that Lambert started he wasn't going to give up. Lambert put four dollars on the table and was given six rings. Lambert tossed two at once to see what would happen. One landed on a clear bottle the other hit the top of the red bottle before it clinked and hit the ground. Lambert smacked the table, Jaskier grinned.

The man at the booth was smiling, it was clear that he was waiting for Lambert would continue to buy rings until he won.

He tossed the third ring and it landed around the clear one behind the red bottle. Lambert groaned, he had three more and he was determined to win this damn teddy bear for his boyfriend.

"I don't need it," Jaskier whispered in his ear. Lambert eyed him.

"I know that." He remarked. "But I want to get you one."

Jaskier smirked, Lambert was always so determined to get him anything he had any interest in. Lambert continued to throw the rings, handing over cash, until after what seemed like an hour finally got the ring around the correct bottle.

Lambert smiled triumphantly as the man finally handed over the prized teddy bear. Jaksier wrapped his arms around his boyfriend planting a kiss on his cheek. Lambert smirked, pride running through him. He had gotten it, even if it took a minute. Or an hour.

They walked hand in hand down the other booths, the teddy bear wrapped in Jaskier's other arm. They stopped to get a pretzel and cotton candy.

Sitting at a slightly already dirty table where they ate and chatted, children ran around with balloons of varying shapes and sizes attached at the hips or around their wrists. The sound of carnival music filled their ears.

It was a lovely date, and Jaskier was happy to just be there. Lambert spent so much effort and time on him and he was certainly thankful for the attention. They finished the food and went off to ride the Ferris wheel. They climbed in and got the seatbelt on, the music began again as the ride began to move. Jaskier held tight to Lambert and his bear as they reached the top.

Lambert smiled, wrapping his arm around him tightly. "I've got you." He promised kissing him softly, the night sky was dark and the carnival lights were bright. Jaskier was wide eyed as he looked over the sparkling lights from below.

He leaned into Lambert some more. This was a pefect date.
