I'm wearing a five mile ball gown
Distancing myself from all the hugs I crave
Keeping all kisses a few feet away
This whole thing was a big mistake.The mermaid dress had me drowning in the floor.
The sweetheart neckline only made it easier for me to get my heart broken.
The A-line was a C plus at best.
The ball gown seemed like the lesser of a million evils.That was a mistake made in hindsight.
Ironic as it may be that I'll never find someone to "be my baby"
This dress will be the only thing hugging my curves tight;
Make my head spin with the "just mights."
This is gonna make me scream and shout, maybe even start a fight.A decision that will haunt me for the rest of my days.
I wish the miles were smaller;
I had the confidence to grow the few inches taller;
Maybe wore the two-piece or the halter.
Because even if you're next to me I know
You're still five miles away.
