Pulling back my dress
Exposing the cold skin beneath
My body shivers
And my breath catches
He can't touch me.His touch
Not greedy, but pawing
Like a bloodhound for answers.
I manage a word
Before you touch me again
And a current passes through me.My head turns
And I look at him.
His face I know from memory
But his eyes
They aren't the same
I saw them moments ago
But these have a message
They invite me in
Despite my snapping
Biting back.Because we've shared looks before
And they've meant
Nothing
So I turn back
Like this is
Nothing
Because I don't need
This question-marked worry
About us being
Something.
