You put a blanket over my shoulders
When you thought I slept
Then snuck out our door
To the neighbour's you crept. Then you snuck back in
Your hair a mess
I stood in the doorway
Saying "just confess."You know what you did
And it's too late to fix.You put your head in your hands
"Any regrets?"
Treaded forbidden lands
Is this as good as it gets? You say you're sorry
And that it was a mistake
I pack your bags
It's too much to takeSay goodbye to the dog
He's staying at my place
Sleep like a log
With your lady in laceYou know what you did
And it's too late to fixI felt your heart in my hand
It was stone cold
You're gonna be lonely
'Til you're grey and oldAnd I won't care
'Cause I'll have a love
Of my own.
