Staring into the ocean;
Beautiful blue reflecting its innocence;
Does it know its power, it's influence;
The Hawthorne effect at its finest.It's different now; I'm better.
Accepting any compliments without question;
Trying to understand it all and not pass judgment.
If you know me, my past is a touchy subject.Staring into the ocean;
Many tides crash into one another,
Spiralling the feelings beneath,
Diffusing love into platonicism.It's different now; I'm better.
I know these crystal waters
Are just what I want to see.
What lies deep within is more dangerous.Staring into the ocean;
What was once so simple is now complex.
Barriers lifted and lines crossed.
Bubbles float to the surface.It's different now; I'm better.
I can tread water instead of drown,
Remain stable instead of fall,
Be vulnerable instead of be manipulated.I don't need to stare into the ocean anymore.
I don't need an ocean at all.
I have my land
And that is enough.
