I fear that I have feelings for you

I admire how your eyes can warm my heart
I admire how your words act as pillars
Supporting those you protect
From those who work hard
To tear them down.
Pain
There's a pain in my throat
From the saliva pool
That blocks my breath
From entering my fluttering chest
So the air catches fire.
Like
I like how you say my name
Like it's a secret invitation
And cover your face when you laugh
Like you're embarrassed to be happy
For no reason.
Panic
I panic every time I see you
I panic that I will kiss you
And your relationship
With her won't change
But ours will.
Love
I love how you touch my fingertips
Asking permission to hold my hand
In case I don't want to hold yours
And how you trace my lips
Before claiming them as your own.
Fear
I fear that I love you
I fear that you love me, too

Like I did before
I met you.
