Chapter Nineteen

I Woke up the next morning excited. It was Friday, no crutches, party tomorrow, and I was finally happy.

Luke and I drove to school chatting about the party the whole way there. We decided he would be in charge of the guest list being that I didn’t really know anyone. I was in charge of music and food.

We walked into school and went our separate ways. I saw Finn and Jack leaning against the door and limped up to them.

“Guess what!?”

“What?” They said simultaneously.

“That’s really creepy…...Anyway, NO CRUTCHES! I can walk, well limp.” I laughed

“That’s great. So you don’t need our help anymore?” Jack asked.

“Nope.”

“Awww Im gonna miss my cripple buddy.” He began to dramatically Sob.

“Jack im glad you made it in the music business….You are a terrible actor.”

“No im not!”

“Sorry bro, but I think she is right.”

“Oh shut up Finn!”

I laughed. “Oh and I almost forgot. Party at Lukes house tomorrow! Its going to be great!”

“We’ll be there.” Finn said with a smile.

“Uhhh…will Jenni be there?” Jack asked blushing.

“I knew it! You like her. Yes she will be there. Ok here’s the plan….Your going to tell her about the party and your going to give her a ride. Ok? Good.”

“Well okay then miss perky.”

I smiled and headed off to homeroom.

Noah was sitting on a desk as I walked in.

“Noahhh look I can walk!”

“No crutches? That’s great!”

“Yep, now you guys wont have to babysit me al the time. I am a free woman.”

“Oh I see how it is. You just spent time with us for your own good….not because you liked us or anything.”

“Hey you know what I meant.”

“Yeah…I know you love me.”

“Yeah yeah….anyway I was just talking to Jack and Finn. We are having a party tomorrow. In celebration of me being able to semi walk again. Are you in?”

“Of course.”

By the time it got to lunch I was pretty stressed about the party. I realized there was a lot I needed to get done. I sat down at the usually table where Jenni was already sitting at with jack.

I smiled to myself and sat down. “Ali I’m so excited for the party! EEEK!”

“I know right, but there is a ton of shit I still have to get done.”

“Well I can come over tomorrow and help.”

“Okay, that would be great!”

The other boys came and sat down, Jason sitting next to me.

“So I hear your having a party.” Jason said looking at me with questioning eyes.

“You heard right.” I smiled.

“Ok well I’ll be there.”

“Uh who said you were invited?”

He just rolled his eyes. “So I also heard you can walk again.”

“Uh huh.”

“Thank God! I don’t think I could take another day walking you around. I mean I’ve just had it. You locked me in an elevator with you, then you forced me to ditch class. Oh and you practically dangled off of the roof!”

“You did what!?” Jenni asked me.

“Um that isn’t exactly how I remembered it. From what I remember the elevator was stuck, and you begged me to ditch class with you and you were the one who was dangling me over the edge.”

“Don’t pretend you didn’t like it.”

I just smiled shaking my head.
