The next morning I looked in the mirror and sighed. I my eye was still swollen and a little purple and red. Along with the scar from the accident…..I looked awful.
I let my hair fall wavy and didn’t even try covering anything up. I met Luke downstairs and we were off to school. When we got there I sat in the car not really wanting to walk in. “Just go ahead Luke. Ill see you at lunch.”
“Okay. See ya later Ali.” He hopped out of the car.
I sat there for a while until I heard a knocking on the window. I jumped and screamed grabbing my chest. I looked to see Jason laughing his head off. I opened the door and smacked his arm.
“Jason you scared the shit out of me!” I said hitting him again.
He just laughed. I gave him a glare and crossed my arms. “Are you done?” I asked.
He just continued to laugh so I just walked away. “Hey Ali! Wait.” He grabbed my arm. “Oh so your mad at me?” he smirked. “Maybe I can change that.”
He kept walking towards me until I backed into the car. He leaned in close and I forgot how to breath. “Still mad?”
“Furious.” I said smirking back.
He leaned in and gave me a soft kiss. “How bout now?”
I smiled.
“That’s what I thought.” He said grabbing my hand and started walking towards the school.
“Actually I think I might still be mad.”
He laughed. “You just can’t get enough of my sexiness.”
I rolled my eyes.
We walked into school hand in hand. As we walked through the hallways people stared. I started to get really uncomfortable when I heard people whispering. Jason just kept his head held high and nodded and waved at people.
We walked into homeroom and Jason went over to talk to Noah so I went over to Jenni. Before I could sit down a girl stood in front of me blocking my way.
“Excuse me.” I said nicely trying to get by but she put her arm out.
“Look Carson,” She said spitting out my name like it was poison. “Just end it with Jason.”
“Excuse me?” I said glaring at her.
“You heard what I said! You are just some charity case! He doesn’t actually care about you. How stupid can you get? Break up with him or you’ll have a lost worse than that black eye.”
She walked away and I stood there stunned. It hurt what she said but I tried to let it roll of my back. I sighed and took my seat next to Jenni.
She began to talk to me but I wasn’t really listening. Jason turned around and smirked at me and I couldn’t help but smile back.
The classes passed quickly and I didn’t have any other problems until lunch. I went to go sit at the usual table when someone stuck their leg out and tripped me. I fell catching myself with my hands. I looked up and saw a group of laughing girls surrounded me.
“What a slut…” One of them said.
“Yeah just like her mom.” Another said.
“Pathetic.”
I tried not to listen but it was so hard. I pushed myself of the ground and just walked away to our regular table.
I sat down next to Jason. “Hey.” He said putting his arm around me.
