Jordan sat across from Olivia and Spencer scrolling on his phone. He wasn't paying them any mind until Liv snatched his phone discovering what got her brother so tied up."Art? Since when did you like art?"
"Mind your business, Liv. It's free." He snatched his phone back.
"He's blushing, I think it's a woman." Spencer pointed out.
"Can't a man just like art?" Jordan asked.
"You ripped my drawing when we were six because it was better than yours so no." Liv replied.
"We were six!" He shot back in defense.
"Who is she?" Spence interrupted his twins before they started their Baker banter with one another.
"Why do y'all assume it has to be a woman?"
"Because you kept looking at the same person in the crowd at the first game. Nobody has Jordan Baker all gummed up and full smile unless you like them." Liv teased.
"I was not smiling that hard." Jordan rolled his eyes at his twin.
"So you admit to cheesing that hard?"
Jordan sulked back in his seat unamused, He didn't think he was that obvious. The school year was a month in and the Westview Lions had one win under his belt for the school year. He knew he was working his boys out of the gate early - early practices and testing out every single play. He hadn't expected Simone to attend their first game but he was trying to play it cool that he appreciated seeing her there.
"Fine... Her name is Simone and she's the new art teacher. She's more relaxed compared to the other teachers and maybe I think she's cute, no big deal."
"Uh, yeah.... It is a big deal. You and Layla were literally terrible for each other and I haven't seen you smile like that, ever come to think of it." Liv picked at her food.
"We weren't that bad." Jordan looked between the couple.
His relationship with Layla was the cliche best friend to lovers trope. He had crushed on her for years and finally he had did something about it. It was based off lust and the jealousy on both ends turned into a shit show Jordan wasn't down for. She wanted one thing while he wanted another. They ultimately decided to end things and now barely converse.
Jordan hadn't really thought about dating. He was fine with whatever came his way and taking his sweet time. He wasn't afraid to admit that Simone was the first person in a long time that he was interested in. She didn't give him the time of day and kept things professional but maybe Jordan had to have a different approach.
"Would it be weird to ask her to the Homecoming dance? You know to chaperone with me?"
"Awwwww." Liv gushed.
"Olivia." Jordan glanced at his sister no longer amused by her teasing.
"What? it's cute that you have a crush on a teacher. I think you should ask her out but maybe do dinner before."
"Just give it a shot and see what happens." Spencer encouraged his best friend.

Jordan knocked on Simone's classroom door seeing her wipe the whiteboard clean. He took a minute to gather his thoughts. The last thing he wanted was to creep her out. He didn't want to scare her off. It took some minor digging but he was able to find what her favorite flowers were and stopped by the flower shop to pick out a bouquet of flowers that just bloomed.
"Coach Baker, What can I do for you? None of your players are failing..."
"I know, I keep track. Uh, these are for you." He handed them off immediately stuffing his hands in his jean pockets.
