Coach Baker: text me your address.
Simone: I thought I was picking you up?
Coach Baker: I am not an animal , drop the addy.

Simone Hicks shared her location.

Coach Baker: oh, we're sharing locations now?
Simone: shut up! It's way easier than typing it out.
Coach Baker: Be there shortly. :)

Simone tossed her phone in her bag checking her reflection. It was just... well actually, she had no idea what the plan was exactly. All the more reason for her to be nervous. She didn't consider this a date because well , coach Baker was simply a co worker. This was nothing more than a outing to know more about some Texas hot spots and maybe some people. She wasn't about to think anything more or less of it.

She heard the knock on her door and double checked everything in her bag on the way to retrieve it. She peeked out the peep hole seeing him wave with flowers.

"More flowers, really?" She rose a brow at him, when she opened the door.

"What? I am sure the other ones died so minus well get fresh ones.... You don't like flowers do you?" Jordan rambled.

"Actually they did die. I forgot to water them soooo in the trash they went, sorry." She grimaced after the confession.

"Don't buy anymore flowers.. got it."

"White roses this time?"

"Symbolizing a new friendship or something like that but it can be up to your own interpretation." Jordan stressed since  he didn't want her to take things wrong away.

"Oh, that sucks. I actually started to like you like you. Shame..."  Simone snapped her fingers seeing his face change.

"We don't really know... right, sarcasm is your middle name!  Look, it's gonna be a chill evening , meet up with my twin." Jordan stated finally hearing the joke  click.

"There is two of you? Good lord." Simone teased locking the door behind her after putting the flowers in a fresh vase of water.

"Twin sister. Her name is Olivia and if I didn't think you'd get along then I wouldn't have invited her."

Jordan didn't really hang out with his co-workers. Maybe the basketball coach here and there but Jordan was always focused on the next game , practice and being as open as possible when it came to his players. Something he didn't feel his dad did during his time coaching him and the eagles.

"So, where are we going anyway?"

"Can't you be a silent passenger?" Jordan held the passenger door open.

"Only if I can control the music."

"....nah. I like hearing what you have to say."

"Again, If you like me Coach, just say that."

"You asked me out, remember."

"Wrong. I am taking you up on your offer to play tour guide." Simone retorted making Jordan smile. Simone always had to have the last word - she got it from her mama.

"Whatever, you like me. It's okay, I won't tell anybody you have a crush on the football coach."

He winked pulling out of the apartment building complex onto the highway to Saigon Hustle - a favorite Vietnamese spot that he frequented with his sister.

"Ew."  Simone responded.

Jordan allowed her to plug in her phone for his Apple CarPlay and watched her sing along to every single thing that came on. Usually he would've  found it extremely annoying if it was anybody else, but she ended up getting him to sing along to some Beyoncé ballads. He could tell love on top was her shit just from the high notes she hit.
