Simone scrunches her nose, moving her face, her body was weighted down. She opened one eye barely making out the black ring on his finger. She closed them again taking in his scent. They went an entire week without seeing each other. He had flown to LA by himself, which she kind of hated. She wanted to go but she had to stay back and be an adult with the student drama that Bailey and Sasha thrown at her along with finally breaking the ice on Sasha's pregnancy. The one time she needed her man's support physically - he wasn't around."How was LA?" She had yet to open her eyes.
"Are you going to converse with me with closed eyes?"
"Yes, since you decided to be an alarm."
It had been ten minutes of getting Simone out of her deep sleep. He didn't want to wake her so he took an Uber back home, LA was successful and so many things was happening at the school that he couldn't keep up. First order of business was prom and figuring out the best way to ask her. It sounded cheesy but he wanted her to enjoy it even if she was no longer a student. It was her first prom
"LA was good. I found a few apartments within our current budget. Did you find any that you like?"
Jordan made sure that he did a few walk through of potential places. He didn't think he would ever leave Houston but after being here for so long and finding a lifetime love, he was ready for the next chapter. He made sure that Simone got each listing and was able to be there virtually.
"I think the third one with the open floor plan was amazing and the balcony really sold it."
"The balcony is very nice." He agreed, finally giving her space.
"Maybe during spring break we should actually go together."
"Of course, babe. Has Matt been a terrible roommate?"
"You mean eating my ice cream and acting like he didn't do it? He hasn't been too terrible."
"I will make sure the freezer is stocked."
"Tell me more about LA!" She poked his arm.
She listened as he went on discussing all the things he did in LA regarding preparing and signing. She wanted so badly to be there but it didn't stop her from taking time to see it unfold through a face time call. It didn't feel the same but he knew where her loyalty lied. Jordan got excited about the littlest things and it was the cutest to see how his face light up as he talked about why he choose his number and all the connections he was making.
He might've lost her when he realized she had zoned out and he finally stopped to catch a breathe. He was talking a mile a minute.
"Am I going too fast?"
"No no... it's fine. You had a busy week."
"I did and I wish you were there but there is still plenty left to do like selling our places , the wedding."
"Yeah which means we have to test taste a bunch of cakes this afternoon." She had finally mustered up the courage to let Laura help and that meant a whole wedding planner.
"That's the best part."
"And... dance lessons for you."
"Does my cowboy two step bother you?" He whispered.
"Yeah, it does. You have no rhythm. How are you fine as hell and don't have rhythm my boy? It's not adding up." Simone got in his personal space.
"Well wife, I am blessed in other subjects." He leaned in closer. She stole a kiss.
"Mmmm, not good enough husband. I'll agree but still. You are getting dance lessons." She tapped his nose.
They eventually got up for the day and went to meet their wedding planner. They were met with a little tower of cake samples. Jordan pulled out Simone's chair taking the seat next to her. The baker went over each cake describing them in full detail.
