"Why do you even have a google alert for yourself? You're going to drive yourself crazy."Simone took Jordan's MacBook Pro removing the alert. Houston and California was having a damn field day and it's been only two weeks since. It must've been a slow time in entertainment because she didn't see why this was still such a big deal. She didn't need the reminder that there were two murders on the scene almost three but it was ridiculous at this point. They were even trying to get Spencer's take on the whole ordeal.
It was easy for him to ignore it more than Jordan. Spencer James did not do social media and barely did interviews. She knew they couldn't just move past but having a few weekly joint therapy sessions helped process the chaos. Simone was ready for this chapter to be done with already.
"What else do I have to do?" Jordan protested.
"Plenty! Sandra didn't take your so called termination seriously so you still have a job." Simone reminded with a smile.
"I was serious though." The man rested his chin in his palm sitting across from her.
"Hun, you and I both know you play games. That was to appease the white folk that were up in arms about your position. It was a scare tactic. I am not letting you quit. I suggest use your white side to your advantage." She didn't see the harm if he did. He was Laura Baker's child after all.
"Yeah Coach! Listen to her." Matt entered the kitchen snatching up a strawberry granola bar unwrapping it. Simone tossed him a washed Apple anyway.
"Where the hell did you come from? I could've sworn you had practice...An hour ago." Jordan checked his Apple Watch and looked back at Matt waiting an explanation.
"The team is protesting." Matt shrugged as if it was no big deal. Silas and Matt had no plans to play without him and the team followed their little ringleaders.
"What? Why would y'all do that?" Matt could see the wrinkle in his coach's forehead as he held back a laugh. He was used to stressing out his coach.
"Awww, see even your own team isn't letting you quit." Simone unplugged the laptop taking it with her.
"Why are you encouraging this and why are you taking my laptop?"
"I told you, I am not letting you quit. You are going to take time to relax, get better and do mindless activities. Quitting is just not going to be one of them." Simone could tell he was hot on her heels when she went back into his room for her jewelry.
She was positive she stayed more at his place the last few weeks. It got to the point she decided to finally leave a few basic necessities. Simone didn't want to overstep so she was threading lightly while trying to give space. She clipped the gold Huggies in her ears and switched her nose ring. Jordan was pretty active so following doctor's orders was the tip of the iceberg.
He was bored out of his mind lately and sitting idle didn't really work in his favor. He couldn't just "take it easy" if he tried. He didn't know how people could be homebodies all day. It wasn't in his nature at all.
"Baby, I am used to a routine. I can't just sit back and do nothing."
"I know sweetheart which is why I called back up." Simone pinched his cheek hearing the bell as she went to get it.
"I am not a child , Simone. I don't need a baby sitter."
"You aren't yet somehow.. You do need a baby sitter or entertainment rather."
Simone opened the door revealing Olivia on the other side. Jordan couldn't roll his eyes hard enough. She was older by a few minutes and liked to boss him around. He loved his sister dearly but this felt like a cruel punishment having to listen to her.
