"I am Sergeant Wade Grey with the Houston Police Department. This evening about an hour ago, a woman went missing from this art gallery. Her name is Simone Hicks. She is a 25 year old African American standing at 5'3 with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light brown dress with black heels and her hair in braids. You can see photos taken earlier tonight here for a closer look. Based on photo evidence sent to her friends, we believe that Ms. Hicks is in danger and needs immediate medical attention.
Her abductors may be armed and may be dangerous. I ask that principal Kennedy release all students attending to their parents immediately , an officer will escort guys out safely. We don't know how long we have but we will split into groups and work smart to bring Ms. Hicks safely. Thank you."
Sergeant Gray's wife Luna and Amara were college roommates. Amara never thought this would be happening to her and her family. She couldn't bring herself to call Tina and Robert to tell them the news. Jordan excused himself as another text came in. He wasn't about to play these games.
"Um, Sergeant Bradford.. I got another text."
"If you can call the number, we can get operators to trace it using the cell towers to pin point their location. Think you can do that?" Sergeant Tim Bradford asked.
Jordan nodded and dialed the number, setting it on speaker.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Look I just want to find my girlfriend. Where did you leave her?"
"Aw, you aren't willing to play my game?"
"I am only interested in finding my girl. That's all I want to do."
"Not even for your son?" The voice sounded upset.
"I don't have any children." Jordan confirmed already getting annoyed.
Sergeant Bradford wrote a few questions down to keep the conversation going long enough.
"Is there something that I can help you with? Maybe tell me more about this son." Jordan's hand was shaking. He looked at someone holding his hand and it was Simone's aunt.
It only made his stomach want to do even more summer saults. Layla smiled hearing Jordan's voice. She missed his voice so much. She needed an excuse to get him back to her and a baby was a perfect reason. It wasn't his - it was Asher's but neither of them knew. Layla had cheated on Jordan with Asher and while they had claimed the relationship went south , she never confessed to the cheating. She did everything to protect her brand and her image.
"He is two and his name is Isaiah. Gosh, he looks just like you and Livvy."
Nobody ever called Olivia - Livvy but Layla. Jordan put the phone on mute taking a deep breath.
"Breathe, why did you mute the call?" Detective Nyla Harper demanded.
"It's my ex girlfriend , Layla Keating. My sister right there, her name is Olivia and Layla is the only person that called her Livvy especially when she was upset. My sister hates that nickname was a passion." He paused seeing another female officer tell him to take a deep breath.
"He is fine, boot." Sergeant Bradford glanced at the new rookie unamused.
"Hate what nickname? What's happening? Did you guys find Simone?" Olivia rushed over when she heard Jordan mention her. She didn't want to be overbearing so she kept her distance.
"It's Layla. Layla referred to you as Livvy." Jordan explained.
"Gimmie the phone." Liv held out her hand.
