"Goood morning , Baker household! The time now is...." Jordan pauses for effect to check his watch.
"5:30 in the morning on this bright August morning! We have breaking news today ladies and gentleman. It is being reported that today.. is Matthew Howard's first day as a senior at Westview High School here in H-Town. That is right, our Matt is almost out of my damn house." Jordan yelled into the megaphone.
Matt rolled over pulling the pillow over his ears. Jordan snatched the covers and checked his phone for the weather. It was the first day of senior year and Matt might've stayed up a little too late. His alarm didn't even go off yet and here his coach was being a nuisance.
"Coachhhhh. chill! It's not even six am." Matt snatched his cover back.
"We just got word that the young man has stayed up too late and now he doesn't want to get up. Traffic right now is light but expected to pick up by 6:30. In shocking news, the coach has proposed to the art teacher and sources say, the teacher said yes!" Jordan announced into the mega phone.
"Good! Congratulations, about damn time now go away." Matt rolled over.
His phone blared making Matt want to scream. Jordan snatched it from the wireless charging pad seeing Bailey's name pop up and ran out the room.

"Top of the morning to you young Bailey." Jordan greeted.
"Hiiii b- Coach! You are not who I expected to see." Bailey laughed expecting now her boyfriend.
Bailey and Matt had spent a little too much time over the summer together. They were taking things slow. Bailey hadn't dated much and Matt was positive that Bailey only saw him as a friend. He never thought the feeling was mutual. It had been an interesting summer and now they were stepping into their senior year as a couple.
"Well least someone is up and at it unlike somebody over here." Jordan sat the phone on the stand and pulled out eggs from his fridge.
"I'll make sure he doesn't sleep in class, how was your summer?." Bailey questioned.
"Very... eventful. Thank you and yours?." Jordan couldn't believe he was starting the school year engaged. It felt like the fresh start that they needed.
He cracked a egg in the pan and looked up hearing his front door unlock revealing his favorite person. He went back to his conversation with Bailey before Matt came out fully dressed for school snatching it off the stand. Jordan glanced over Simone when she wasn't looking. She was too busy with her matcha latte and chocolate croissant to notice.
"That outfit is not school appropriate. Secondly, will you eat a real breakfast." He teased, breaking a piece of her croissant popping it in his mouth. He looked her over once more.
