Jordan looked at the overloading trash in the bathroom. He shook his head reaching into the can to put out the plastic bag. Attempting to tie everything, it was so much stuffed in there that the plastic bag couldn't handle it. Jordan groaned at the mess on the floor, rolling his eyes.
He bent down getting a new bag from underneath the cabinet to secure all the trash. He tied the knot securely thinking he grabbed everything. Something pink on the floor behind the toilet caught his attention when he caught a glimpse in the mirror.
"What the fuck..." He sighed, reaching behind it.
He figured it was one of his babygirl's a million bath toys.. it would be the most logical to him but Simone kept the bathroom pretty organized having a small mesh net of her toys in the shower. One that easily removable when it came to using the shower for other things.
"Sweetheart?"
Jordan had interrupted the dance session that Simone was having with their three year old. He watched them for a moment. It was still the best gift Simone had ever given him. Kennedy was the ultimate girly girl. After Principal Kennedy's sudden death five months into Simone's pregnancy, it felt like a fitting name to honor the person that brought them together.
"Good morning sunshine!" She greeted letting their daughter loose.
She focused on finishing making breakfast. Jordan was attacked in the knees by Kennedy. He watched her hold on tight as he wobbled to the trash with her holding on to him for dear life. He cleaned his hands before scooping her in his arms. Her screams from his kisses made Simone smile.
"So, is there something you would like to share with the class Mrs. Baker?" He wondered sitting Kennedy in his lap as he sat at the island.
They had the open floor kitchen like they wanted opting for more of a playroom in the living room than an actual space to entertain. It was much easier to kind of multi task. Simone shrugged with her mouth not having anything to share taking the pan to plate the scrambled eggs.
"Are you sure that you have nothing to share?" He asked again.
"If I had a secret, I would tell you but it's not a secret if you know and I know that you already know."
"So no jumping through hoops?" Jordan was taken back to the first time she shared that she was pregnant.
"You could just ask." Simone unrolled the parchment paper covered strips of bacon.
"Or...you could tell me who this belongs too ." Jordan waved the pregnancy box.
"Ah, yes... that is what they call a pregnancy test and according to my memory bank, you Jordan Baker are the pappy. Congratulations buttercup." Simone flashed a grin returning to what she was doing.
"That was sooo nonchalant but I already knew." He just wanted to hear it
"Sure you did." She nodded.
"You've been falling asleep on me every time we face time, you've been hogging the hell out the bathroom in the morning and in your words.. not mine, baby my boobs hurt." He had a smug look on his face seeing her's taken back that he took in so much about her.
"Okay, baby daddy then why did you ask me?" Simone opened the carton of blueberries.
"Because I know you can't lie to save your life." Jordan winked.
