Florence, ItalyThey had stayed in Paris for a few days. Their phones tempted to stay on do not disturb until Laura's maternal instincts kicked in - her son and her bonus baby were not allowed to just fall off the map without her knowing. They needed to enjoy themselves but not have her panic if something were happened to them. No matter how much her son had gotten into fights over his lifetime, she appreciated the calmer personality her son had taken on in recent years.
The newlyweds took a flight traveling to Florence, Italy for their honeymoon. Nobody else was on their radar but each other, it didn't matter how much Matt swore they deserved a "family vacation". Maybe in the near future. Right now, Jordan didn't want to see nobody but his wife and other tourists being tourists. Jordan had fallen asleep as soon as they got in the car from the airport. Simone wasn't even surprised the moment her shoulder somehow became a pillow for his big head.
After almost an hour, the car came to a complete stop in front of their hotel. Simone contemplated either yelling him awake or being gentle. She took the latter to be on the safe side. Her eyes locked with the driver who quietly wished them good luck on their adventures. Her fingers grazed his perfectly trimmed facial hair.
"Husband?" She kept her voice soft for his sake continuing the subtle touch to lure him out of his sleepy state.
After a while of silence, she finally got some sort of a response - more like a noise that he heard her call for him.
"We're here, are you going to move your big head? I would like my shoulder back." Simone nudged.
"Are we here?" He exhaled sharply, pressing his face into the crook of her neck.
"Yes, I am sure the driver has other passengers."
"....Fine." Jordan understood, he didn't want to rack up a bill by sitting idle.
He moved away yawning in his arm, blinking his eyes. It was a good little nap, he barely heard the music playing or the small conversation that Simone had with the driver on the ride over. He removed their luggage from the trunk - it wasn't much as it was the last time they traveled overseas. They sent their wedding attire back home with Spencer and Olivia so it was in good hands and wouldn't get lost on their honeymoon journey. Jordan smiled softly at the bell hop that came running out with the trolley. They didn't have much but he still offered to take the loud off of them.
"It's never to late for a honeymoon right?" Simone rounded the vehicle giving him a side hug.
"I think we've been honeymooning since we left the venue." He placed a kiss on the top of her head.
His free hand held in hers as his dominant checked them in. Jordan thanked the receptionist for their hotel key. It was surprising that they even left their hotel to be a civilized bride and groom.
The bell hop followed after with the trolley to their suite , Jordan handed over their tip sending them on their way.It was still a pinch me moment to actually be married. To actually have someone legally have his last name that wasn't his family. It felt so surreal but he still had his pinch me moments. They had plans to really explore Italy and hit up as many cities as possible before returning home. Simone collected her toiletries going into the bathroom.
She wanted nothing more than a shower. A shower and a nap with her husband sounded devine. Surprisingly, Jordan didn't join her until she poked her head out the door getting his attention. Simone knew that space was important, they weren't that clingy to each other that even after a short flight , they still deserved to relax for a moment since they got up so early to catch the earliest flight available.
