A couple of days had passed since Kozik's death and the guys was kind enough to had given me space since I found about his death but they could see how much bad Kozik's death was affecting me.
Wandering out of the clubhouse, I walked over to the office to catch up on some paperwork as Gemma was out for the day so she couldn't do it herself. Placing myself behind the desk, I began on the paperwork sat in front of me. With TM being fairly quiet and the guys being out on club business, I had managed to speed through the majority of paperwork by the time 5 o'clock rolled around.
The sound of a motorbike rolling into the lot left me to remove myself from behind the desk as I wandered out of the office to see who it was as I knew the club wasn't planning on coming back to the clubhouse yet. Coming to the view of the biker, I spotted Opie removing the helmet of his head as I walked over to him.
"Hey -- Everything okay?" I asked
"I'm going to the cabin to check on pops. Wanted to know if you want to tag along." Opie answered.
Without having to think twice, I hopped on the back of Opie's bike as he rode us out to the cabin.
Pulling up outside the wooden cabin, Opie noticed that the front door was open slightly causing him to place me behind him as he started to walk inside with his gun in his hand. The second we stepped inside the cabin, Opie was quick to his knees as we both spotted Piney laying dead on the floor with a bullet wound on his chest. Quickly turning away from the body on the floor, I placed my face in my hands as I began to sob and by the sound of it, Opie was sobbing as well. The sound of floorboards creaking causing Opie to remove himself from the ground and lung himself at the person who was entering the house, only to find that Unser had followed us up to the cabin.
Opie still had hold of Unser by the collar of his shirt with his gun raised to Unser's face as I watched the events play out with tears still running from my eyes. Unser confessed to Opie and I that Clay was the one who killed Piney and he tried to blame it on the Cartel to cover his tracks and if he didn't believe a word he said to ask Gemma about it.
Unser had ordered both of us to deal to leave the cabin and go home as he would deal with Piney's body by ringing Skeeter to take care of it. Opie has managed to slightly calm down as he gently guided me out of the cabin as he could see how badly I was being affected by seeing Piney's dead body on the floor.
After we had left the cabin, I ended up staying the night at Opie's house as I didn't want to be alone, not like Opie would be let me be alone anyhow.
-------------------------------------
The next morning quickly came around as Opie and I headed over to Gemma's house to see if there was any truth about Unser has informed us the night before. The second Gemma opened the door, we found her face all bruised and swollen up which by the looks of it, it was done by the hands of Clay and god knows for what reason. When Opie tried to question Gemma about it, she had just informed us that it was things building up over time to the point where things got heated up and got out of hand.
After getting barely any answers from Gemma, Opie and I went to Skeeters to say one last goodbye to Piney.
As Opie and I climbed off the back of the bike, we stepped inside the white building. Walking down the stairs that lead into the main area of the building, I spotted a large cardboard box inside the furnace.
"I will give you guys a moment" Skeeter spoke as he lit the furnace before leaving the building.
The second Skeeter left the building, I placed myself next to Opie as he held Piney's kutte in his arms while we both watch the furnace burn the cardboard box. Tears started to flow down my face leaving Opie to wrap his arm around me as the silence continued between us.
