A couple of days had passed since Opie and I had arrived at the cabin. Both of us didn't really know what to say to each other but we both knew that each other was taking things hard and we were both dealing with it in our own way.
Walking out of the bedroom, I spotted Opie sat on the porch smoking leaving me to wander over to the fridge to grab a stack of beer from inside of it. Placing myself on the couch, I began to drink my beer when Opie had walked inside the cabin after he had finished his smoke.
"Morning -- You just woke up?" Opie asked sitting on the armchair.
"Yup" I replied placing the beer to my lips again.
"How long has that been going on for?" Opie questioned as he pointed towards the beer in my hands.
"I don't have a problem" I answered before letting the rest of my beer slip in my mouth before grabbing another bottle.
"You've been drinking since we have left TM and it has got worse when we arrived here. I understand the reason why you are drinking but you need to talk to me, otherwise I can't help you." Opie commented
"I'll be fine Opie. I just need some time to process all the pain that comes with Kozik and pop's death." I replied leaving Opie to nod.
"I know you don't want to talk about it but there is something that I need to say. Pop's had made many mistakes in his life but the best thing he ever did was adopt you. He gave me this bad ass little sister that I didn't think that I was ever going to get. I know how much you saw him as a father figure and how much you love him because he looked at you the same way. I have always got your back." Opie explained.
Tears had started to fall down my face causing me to look away from Opie as he placed himself next to me on the couch leaving him to pull me in close for a hug.
"I can't believe that he's gone" I sobbed
"Me too" Opie replied as he rested his head on top of mine.
Time had passed quickly since we had arrived at the cabin and the majority of the time, I was sat on the couch drinking my problems away and Opie occasionally looked over at me with a worried look on his face. It didn't take long for Opie to announce that we were going to head back to his house as our stay at the cabin had come to an end.

Jax's POV
Today was the day that Opie and Letty was planning on coming back from their trip to the cabin. I knew that they were both suffering enough and what I was about to tell them about Clay was going to make things worse than it already is.
Leaning against my bike that is placed in front of Opie's house, I spotted Opie parking his truck in front of my bike before making his way over to where I am stood.
"How's the wrist?" I asked as Opie stood in front of me.
"It's fine, considering a bullet just went through it." Opie answered as I just simply nodded.
"You find anything out?" Opie didn't hesitate to question.
"Yeah. Few things. You were right. Clay killed your old man." I stated.
"Shit. You should have let me finish it." Opie harshly spoke
"We can't kill him, Ope. Gaalan won't deal with me. We need to keep Clay alive to handle this cartel thing. If I kill this Mexican alliance, the whole club suffers." I explained.
"What are you talking about, man?" Opie asked with a confused look on his face
"I'm staying. I'm taking the gavel. I need you at my left. Be my VP." I answered
"And how does that work with Clay still around?" Opie asked again
"Clay stepped down. It's our club now." I commented
"I... I don't get it. Why are you staying? What the hell happened today?" Opie questioned
"I need you to trust me. I'll tell you everything. And the club. I just got to do it at the right time." I explained
"In my book, that's lying." Opie stated as he looked at his feet before looking back up again.
"We got church in an hour. I want you there." I commented
A moment of silence had passed between Opie and I before I ended up looking over at Opie's truck to find Letty in a deep sleep in the passenger seat. I noticed that she looked drained.
"How long has she been like that for?" I asked as Opie looked over at the truck as well.
"She crashed not that long after we got in the truck. She didn't get much sleep at the cabin." Opie replied
"How's she holding up?" I asked again
"She is a mess. All she had done since the night at the clubhouse is drink. She hasn't really done anything else." Opie explained.
"Hopefully the drinking doesn't last long" I commented
"I doubt that will happen since Clay is still breathing" Opie replied as he still looked at Letty sleeping in his truck.
I quickly looked over at Letty for another moment before I briefly hugged Opie as I left to go home.
