It had been a few nights since my last full nights sleep and it was starting to show through. I'd sleep through the first few hours I was to be in the library because I'd end up falling asleep as the sun was beginning to rise. My mood shifted the entire sanctum with the music I'd play or sometimes the silence I let out though Wong and Stephen both know how much I actually hate it. I was living off of coffee and wine at this point which irritated the hell out of Stephen but with all these fucked up dreams and a wedding for my boyfriends ex coming up, I felt like I was drowning in uncertainty. Why not drown with a little alcohol too?

"Jodie." Wong's voice took me out of my thoughts. I had forgotten we were in public. Stephen was on shift today so Wong decided to take me out to make me feel better. I assume Stephen told him about my nightmare the other night as well as being aware that my sleeping has been quite erratic. Wong was always someone I knew cared about me but showing feelings wasn't something normal for him. "Are you going to try the dress on or stare at it for fifteen more minutes?"

"Do you think Stephen will like it?"

"This isn't exactly my area of expertise, Reynolds." I smiled at his honesty and grabbed the dress anyway before heading into the dressing room. Wong had taken me to lunch but asked if I wanted to go shopping because I don't "get out and do womanly stuff" which he was totally right. Living with two grown men, it was difficult to convince to come with me clothes shopping, gossiping with them, watching certain movies and shows (without heavy persuasion and slight manipulation), or being able to do face masks without Wong constantly asking me which realm I had crawled from today with a proud laugh. Every. Single. Time.

By the time I got the dress on, I could feel Wong's impatient look from the curtain. It was really sweet of him to take me out today and be so patient with me. And want me to do womanly things with everything going on. The fabric was light, soft, and actually flattering on me. Navy blue fabric with a floral pattern that accented it with a shade of blue the tiniest bit lighter. The long sleeves were sheer which made it a bit cooler. The deep v-neck made me a bit insecure about the amount cleavage I'd be providing but Stephen's voice was in my head telling me "it was just perfect". With a slight hint of "there could be more." There was a slit going from my shin up to my mid-thigh which was actually sexy to me.

Finally deciding I had made Wong wait long enough, I walked through the curtain. His eyes glanced over the dress on me as I did the same in the mirror that was outside the fitting rooms. "Do you like it?"

"It looks very nice on you." I knew Wong was telling the truth because the dress I tried on at the other store got the most rejecting look I had ever seen from someone. For this dress, his eyes were soft and I could tell he was admiring it like I was. "Bring it to the counter, I'll grab it for you and we can head back to the sanctum."

"No Wong, you don't have to buy this."

"I insist."

"Wong, you bought me lunch. You paid in patience while I looked through four different stores today. There is no reason for you to buy this dress. Especially insect you're not even going to the wedding."

"I am the Sorcerer Supreme and you will obey my orders. Bring it to the counter and I will pay for it. Oh and grab one of those gray stuff you put on your face. Maybe I should try it." A giggle escaped passed my lips at his attempt at being assertive and using his title over my head to make me listen. It was admirable how badly he wanted to do this for me.
