First part of this in third person because it was more difficult for me personally to write in first person with some of the details I needed to. Just wanted to throw that out there :)
Warning: Mention of car accident and some injury. Also some Dr. Strange spoilers but nothing too big yet

The world is different now
We feel more of us
When the days are getting touch

A little's enough
When all that's left is love

"Where is Jodie Reynolds? I'm her partner."

"She's in room 508. This girl can't go with you, family only."

"She is family, she's my daughter." Stephen grabbed the teenagers's hand and ran with her down the hall. The cal had came about three minutes before saying their beloved had been severely injured in a roll over car accident. She was unconscious but they only saw major damage to her hand. The young girl had tears stinging at her eyes just like Stephen's own as they barged into the room.

She looked lifeless and yet they both knew she was okay. Looks spoke louder to them in this very moment. Jodie's hand had been completely wrapped up there wasn't anyway for them to look at it to see. She had some cuts on her cheeks and noticeable matting in her hair from whatever drink she had with her. Stephen never thought he'd had to live through something like this happening to someone he loved. He had gone through it himself, this was the last thing he expected to happen. "Jodie, please wake up." She cried grabbing on to her free hand gently.

"Are you Stephen Strange?" Stephen removed his hands from the young one's shoulders to see a doctor standing in the doorway. "May I speak to you for a second?"

"America, keep talking to her." Stephen walked out of the room and closed to door. He stood in front of the doctor so he could watch America through the window to ensure she wasn't going to completely breakdown like they both had just moments before portalling here. "Is she going to wake up? What will you do about her hand? Can I see her X-Rays?"

"Mr. Strange-"

"Dr."

"Dr. Strange, we're going to bring her in for an immediate surgery to reconstruct the bones in her fingers. Some of them were cursed completely while others were pulled out of alignment and need to be fixed. As for her consciousness, she has been in and out of it slowly the past twenty minutes or so. We're going to give her a sedative so we can perform the surgery and she should be awake afterwards. There hasn't been any physical trauma to her head which is why I expect her to wake up after we're finished. You and your daughter are more than welcome to stay here for the time being."

Stephen's eyes flicked behind the doctor to see Jodie's hand against America's cheek. "Excuse me." Stephen walked in without a seconds hesitation while the doctor followed getting the feeling she was waking up. "Jodie, baby?"

"Oh Stephen."

"I kept talking to her and she woke up." The hope in America's eyes was healing to Stephen and Jodie. A girl who had no path until she found them. The tiniest bit of glimmer or shine in her eyes was enough to put them both back in good graces. Jodie continued to run her thumb along America's cheek while Stephen planted a loving kiss to her head.

"I know you've just woken up, Ms. Reynolds but we're going to need to prep you for surgery."

"Not a problem. May I just speak to them for a second?" The doctor gave them both a nod and walked out, shutting the door behind him. Stephen rested his hand on her shoulder while the other tried to lightly stroke her matted hair. "You need to get America to the Book of Vishanti."
