I see your face and it keeps me going
If I get lost your light's gonna guide me

And I know that you can take me home

Almost as quick as the day moved on, MJ and Ned were knocking at the door. Stephen quickly opened it to find that the two teenagers were amazed by the view inside. Though it was much more angelic without the snow freezing it over. "I can't believe I'm in the sanctum sanctorum."

"Neither can I." I nudged Stephen which only back fired on me in the end due to the pain I felt when I extended my body into his.

"You must be MJ. I'm Jodie and I've heard so much about you. You too, Ned."

"The pretty mystic lady knows my name." Stephen rolled his eyes at the excitement in my own. It was rare for people to actually know who I am besides just another protector of the Sanctum. "I'm a fan of you and Dr. Strange. I actually think I have magic, it runs in my family. Do you ever get a tingling in your fingers."

"You should talk to your physician." Stephen spoke, wrapping his arm around my stable side to help me up the steps. As grand and beautiful as they are, this was the worst time to be climbing them. Currently in digressing agony from the stitched up wounds of the reptile in my basement. Though there was an excitement looming in the air over this multiversal engagement it all still felt incredibly insane. "No, let's talk about the bad news first. As of now, you have detected zero multiversal trespassers. Get won your phones, scour the internet and, and Scooby Doo this shit." I hadn't realized Stephen was eavesdropping on the teenage reunion until his outburst when we reached the top railings.

"Oh you're telling us what to do? Even though it was your spell that got screwed up meaning all of this is kinda your mess. You know, I know a couple of magic words myself starting with the word 'please.'" Trying to contain the smile that was evidently elongating on my face was a challenge. It brought me joy to see someone else feed this attitude back to him other than myself or Wong.

"Please, Scooby Doo this shit. You can work in the Undercroft."

"Oh I like her." Stephen just gave me a look before we both made our way into the library. "What are you looking for in here?"

"Artifact to reverse the spell and send those unbearable specimens back to their universes." I took a seat on the desk after brushing off a pile of snow. For the first time since returning from the sewers I was able to relax with no pain running through me. I watched as he continued to look before finally finding it and trapping the untamed spell inside of it. "Nice of you to help me look. Need I remind you we have three untrustworthy adolescents with a lizard and an octopus in the basement?"

"Stephen, come here." He was defiant at first and tried walking away from me. I opened a portal that he walked through, appearing front of me. He let out a sigh of defeat but I could he was happy I did such a move. When there was this high of a threat, it took a toll on him. He would play it off like it was no big deal with a snarky comment or sometimes one of great sexual innuendo but it was always to overshadow what was really going on inside. Fear of the unwanted outcome.

His sculptured jawline melted into my hands after I took the artifact and set it beside me on the desk. If I could take any moment to relax him even for a few seconds, I needed to take it. Remind him of who he was working with, what was at stake, and how he didn't have to do everything by the book. He used to always disagree with me on that logic until the events of 2018. Since then he's taken my advice to not play everything by the book and just do what feels right. That's how I've done it my whole life. "Baby." I could see my soft whisper having a strong calming effect on him as his eyes slowly closed and his hands found my hips lazily. "Let him get these guys, give him a chance to prove himself."
