Warning: Not too many spoilers in this one but pretty big one at the end so go at your own risk!

Sleeping in your wallow. Crying and shivering. Hunting for your sorrow.
Bending down to hold it. Shiver like you're gonna try. Scatters like it comets.

Killing it like a habit.
Take me as your servant. Take my as your weapon. Take me as your courage.

Being back at Kamar-Taj overnight was different than before. Not only were the stakes higher since I was guarding someone rather than training to be the next best sorcerer but the walls were creepier than like being at the sanctum. Though this time I'm not alone in this room. America had showered and gotten into comfier clothing so she could rest after being on the run for god knows how long. All I wanted to do was make it easier for her, take away the struggles of being superhuman and let her be a kid. But there was no way.

The fire in the room was starting to burnout so I threw an extra piece on. Not realizing how loud it was until I heard America gasp and jump up on her bed, fists balled. I turned around quickly to see her settling when she realized it was just us. "America, I'm so sorry. I just didn't want you to get cold." I ran over to the bed and took her hand in mine, pulling her shaking body down to sit beside me on the bed.

"Sorry, I'm not normally this fidgety but someone is chasing me. I feel like I can't sleep because they'll get me when I'm vulnerable. I wasn't even really sleeping which is why I jumped so quick. I also don't dream so it's even easier for me to be up now."

"Figured just as much." My arms found her shoulder in a comforting grasp. There was something so familiar about this moment but I couldn't figure out why. Have I seen America before the first vision? "You know if you're having trouble sleeping, talking is a good coping mechanism. Or we can watch a show you really like."

"I can't really keep up with tv shows or series because of how often I accidentally jump from multiverse to multiverse. But talking sounds nice. I don't want to talk about the monsters or who or what is coming after me though."

"That's totally fine. What do you want to talk about?"

"I know you have some questions so, let's talk about you." Talking about me wasn't my favorite subject but America was right. I had so many questions. There was apart of me that didn't want to because I was afraid of some of the answers.

"Let's compromise and you tell me about your life with Stephen and myself. How you came to meet them or us or just tell me everything."

America smiled at my attempt to find terms for talking about my variants other than that word. Is it still me even though I'm not living that life? Or was it a completely different person who is exactly like me down to our DNA strands? The possibilities were endless and yet I wanted to spend eternity learning them. "I accidentally traveled into the other universe a few months ago. It was the first time I felt safe. You brought me back to the sanctum because I arrived while you were out on a mission. I don't really know how I got there it just happened. Strange was skeptical at first but was willing after I explained more about myself and my powers."

"You can't control your powers at all?"

"Not really. I mean, I can with some brute force but the traveling I can't." America sighed and my heart ached. I couldn't understand what it was like to try and tame a power larger than your life. "You let me stay with you and even tried to help me learn more about it which is how I learned with some punches or stomps, I produce a star shape that breaks whatever it is I'm hitting. You both treated me like I was your daughter, even said I was. I finally felt safe but then you got into that car accident-"

"It's okay you don't have to talk about it. We can change the subject." America was grateful for my sympathy and how quick I was to help. "What other versions of us did you come across?"
