40 : Worried Strength

I heaved a deep sigh as I look at the Loki home. The wolves are playing. They are enjoying their time.

Nasa harap kami ngayon ng bahay nakaupo at kasama ko sina Aoiri at Biya. Pare-parehas lamang kaming nagbabantay at natutuwang tingnan ang lahat. The runaways from the Inui homes have adapted to being fine with the Loki wolves without the tension or territorial issues which are innate to wolves. Sa ngayon ay para na lamang kaming iisang pack. Well, iisa lang kami. They are technically our wolves for now.

I heaved a deep sigh once again when I saw Nikolai playing with a little wolf and then Ignis trying to blend in on the other part. Hindi naman siya nahihirapang makisalamuha sa kanilang lahat maliban kay Nikolai. They are always on constant tension but not a single violence is involved. My human is always a natural on everything. The pack sees him as just a human that needs our help - a human who is a guest for now because of the circumstances around. None of them even thinks that the child I have inside of me now is his child nor the fact that we are both in love with each other. And it will stay that way. I hope so.

"In between four or five months or nine months." mahinang sambit ni Aoiri. Nang tingnan ko siya'y nakatingin din siya sa akin habang si Biya naman ay nasa tabi ko lang. Aoiri is a little further than Biya but I can clearly hear her silent talking. "That's the choices of you giving birth and will determine which genes are dominant in your cub. Kapag lumipas ang buwang ito nang hindi ka pa nanganganak, that means it is more of a human than a wolf."

"Shouldn't we talk about that loudly in the open space along with the wolves just playing nearby?" si Biya. Napapailing ito kay Aoiri. "Shawn said you two fought."

"Kailan?" tanong ko naman.

"Hindi mo alam? Ay oo nga pala. Nagsabunutan 'yang dalawang iyan noong isang araw. Si Shawn at Aoiri dahil nagtatalo sila. Ewan ko ba parang mga bata. Buti na lang walang napikon at nag-away nang todo. Nikolai almost got pissed off because they were too loud while he was reading his book. Si Ignis, nagpapahinga noon. He does not seem to care dahil ikaw lang ang binabantayan niya."

Napatango-tango na lang naman ako sa paliwanag ni Biya. It seems like my two-day out just sleeping and healing is way too long for me not to know everything. A lot of things I never thought of before. I heaved a deep sigh once again while caressing my stomach.

"What if...one day one of us betrays us?" si Aoiri na naman. Sa pagkakataong ito ay hindi na siya nakatingin sa akin bagkus ay sa mga lobong naglalaro. "What if these innocent wolves get hurt because of that?"

"I don't know. We're constantly on the verge of protecting one another and it's not impossible to get hurt. It's a common issue of packs, of wolves. Why? What will you do if someone betrays us?" si Biya. "Will you kill? Even if it's one of our siblings...or me?"

"Why? Will you kill me if I am the traitor that Shawn is saying?"

"Absolutely."

Sandaling nagtawanan ang dalawa bago tumingin sa akin.

"Antara, as our Luna, will you kill?"

"Yes."
