Me and derek walk hand in hand to the wedding after party. We sit at the table with his family. We say hi to them.
It's a little while later and Derek's running his fingers through my hair, zoned out. I giggle, looking at him.
"You bored?" I ask. He nods. "Wanna dance?" I ask. "I don't dance" he glares at me. I chuckle.
"Hey" a guy around our age sits next to us. "I'm Eddie.. Derek's cousin" he shakes my hand. "Hi" I say.
"Mer let's go dance" Derek says, getting out of his seat quickly. He grabs my hand and basically yanks me onto the dance floor.
"What the hell was that?" I giggle. "Nothing" he says. I step closer to him and we start slow dancing.
"Ow" I say as he stands on my foot. "Sorry" he says. "Ow" I say as he does it again. "Sorry" he says. I giggle.
"Mind if I cut in? I'm a much better dancer, I promise" eddie walks over. "Um.." I say. "Yeah, sure.. why not" Derek rolls his eyes, pulling away.
"I- Okay?" I say. He kisses my cheek before walking away. "I bother him" eddie chuckles.
We start dancing slowly, his hand on my waist and mine on his shoulder, our others holding eachothers.
"Why?" I ask. He shrugs. I furrow my brows. "I'm meredith" I say. "I know" he says. I smile.
"So how did my cousin pull you?" He chuckles. "Hes a good guy" I shrug. He chuckles. "What?" I ask. "Nothing" he says.
"Hes an amazing guy.. he's good looking and clever.. why would I not want to be with him?" I ask. "Hes a nerd" he says. "He's a cute nerd" I say. He chuckles. I giggle.
"Can I have her back now?" Derek walks over. "No" eddie says. "Please" he frowns. I giggle. I pull away from eddie and move Into Derek's arms. I wrap my arms around his neck.
"Fine.. we'll continue this conversation later" eddie says. "Okay?" I chuckle. He smiles. He walks away. I shrug.
Derek puts his hands on my waist. I smile. I stand on my tiptoes, kissing him softly. I look into his eyes. "You want a drink?" He asks. "Sure" I smile. He holds my hand. We walk to the bar.
"What would you like?" He asks. "Tequila" I say. "That's not happening" he chuckles. I giggle. "Champagne?" I ask. He sighs. He orders it. Its an open bar and they didn't ask him for ID.
"Thankyou" I grin, taking it. He orders himself a coke. "What are you drinking?" Carol walks over. I drink the champagne quickly and put it down. "Nothing.. water.. nothing" I say. Derek laughs.
"Mhm" she says. "You're not going to ask him what he's drinking?" I frown. "Its coke!" He says. I giggle.
"Doesn't he look so much better without the glasses?" His auntie says. "I think he looks adorable with his glasses" I say. She chuckles, shaking her head. I shrug.
They walk away. "Another please" I pass the bartender the glass. He pours another. "Thankyou" I say.
I drink a few more. "No more" Derek says. "Okay" I giggle. I drink another. "Meredith! I can't take you to your grandparents house drunk!" he says. "Okay, I'm sorry" I grin. He sighs.
I wrap my arms around his neck, stepping closer to him. He puts his hands on my waist. "You look so handsome" I say. He smiles.
I grab his glasses out of his pocket, putting them on. "Pass me them back" he says. I grin, shaking my head. He glares at me. I giggle.
"Oh my god is that Britney spears?" He points behind me. I gasp, turning around. He takes the glasses. "Ha!" He says. I gasp, looking at him.
"Asshole! I got so excited" I giggle. He grins. I hit his chest lightly. He chuckles.
"You wanna go?" He asks. "Sure" I say. He holds my hand. We walk out to the car. I reach into my bag, grabbing some mouthwash.
He chuckles as I spit it out. "This isn't my first rodio" I grin. He shakes his head, grinning. I giggle.
We drive to my grandparents. I knock on the door. It opens. "Hi grandma" I hug her. "Hi sweetie" she says. I pull away.
"This is derek" I say. "Its nice to meet you derek" she says. My grandad shakes his hand. We talk for a bit before walking in.
He sits on the couch. "Hi" he says. "Hi derek" Ellis says. "Hi mom" I sit on his lap. I giggle as he pushes me off of him, onto the couch.
I climb back onto his lap. He pushes me back off of him. "Not infront of your grandparents" he whispers. I giggle.
"You're so cute" I say, playfully pinching his cheek. He frowns, pulling my hand away. I giggle.
"Meredith leave him alone" my mom chuckles. I giggle. I take his glasses and put them on. My grandparents come into the room and start talking to us.
"How was the wedding?" My grandma asks. "Good.. Derek's a terrible dancer" I say. "You're lucky I did in the first place" he says. I giggle.
"You only did it to get me away from your cousin" I say. "Because he's awful" he says. "He was nice" I say. "To you" he says.
He takes the glasses off of me. I giggle. He puts them back on. "You say that as if you're a good dancer yourself" my grandma says. I gasp. "I'm an amazing dancer" I say.
"The heel marks on my feet say different" Derek says. I gasp. "Shut up" I giggle. He chuckles. "We made dinner.. did you eat at the wedding already?" My grandma asks. "I want food" I stand up.
"You ate three slices of cake" Derek says. I grin. He chuckles. "Three!?" My grandparents exclaim. I giggle. "Did you bring me a slice?" My Mom asks. "Um.. no" I say.
"We did actually bring a slice.. for all of you actually" Derek reaches into his bag, pulling out 3 containers with slices of cake in. "How thoughtful.. thankyou" my grandad says. "Suck up" I whisper. He grins.
"At least there's one of you I can count on" my mom glares at me, taking the cake. "You like him better than me, don't you?" I ask jokingly. "Yes" she grins. I giggle.
We have dinner, they talk to and get to know derek a bit more before we eventually go to my house.
He walks me to the door. My Mom walks in. "I had such a nice time" I smile. "Me too" he says. I put my hands on his waist. He steps closer. "I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask. He nods. I kiss him.
We pull away slowly. I smile, walking inside. He leaves. I walk upstairs, get changed into my pyjamas and get into bed, soon falling asleep.
