Me and derek are sat in his room. He's playing on his PlayStation and I'm on the floor doing my makeup and scrolling through my phone.
"You look gorgeous" he sits behind me on the floor. I look at him behind me in the mirror.
"Der" I giggle as he wraps his arms and legs around my waist, holding me tight. "Stop" I grin, putting my hands on his legs. He grins.
"You're like a sloth.. get off of me" I giggle, hitting him. He chuckles, pulling away. I put on some lipgloss. He growls in my ear. I giggle hysterically as he bites my ear lobe.
There's a knock at the door. "Come in" he says. He keeps his arms wrapped around me, his chin resting on my shoulder.
"Derek, mom said to tell you that you're going to be late for work" Nancy says. "Right" he gets up. She leaves. He puts on a white button up shirt, a tie and black trousers.
I grab my bag. "You look cute in your uniform" I play with his tie. "You look good enough to eat" he backs me up against the wall. "Yeah? You can eat me" I smirk. He chuckles. I giggle.
He holds my hand and we go outside, getting in his car. He drives us to the restaurant. We walk in and see my dad sat at a table.
"I'll see you in a minute" he puts his hand on the small of my back. "No, come and say hi" i hold his hand. "Really?" He whines. "Yeah" I lead him to the table. My dad stands up.
"Hi dad" I smile as he hugs me. "Hello sweetheart" he pulls away. "Hi Mr grey" Derek shakes his hand. "Hello derek" he says.
"I'm just going to let them know I'm here but I'll be right back to get your orders.. if that's okay?" He looks at my dad. My dad nods.
Derek pulls out my chair for me. "Thanks" I sit down. He walks away. "Are you going to be nice to him?" I ask. "Yes" my dad says. "Thankyou" I say.
"How are you?" He asks. "Good" I say. "School?" He asks. I look down. "Is- Is he distracting you?" He asks.
"No! It's not him.. Derek's great in school.. he wouldn't skip a class if his life depended on it" I say. Or unless I force him.
"I don't wanna talk about school" I say. "Okay, you and derek?" He asks. "No" I say. Not with him.. until I can trust him again. "How's your mom?" He asks. "Good" I smile.
"When did you see lexie last?" I ask. "A couple of days ago" he says. We talk a bit before derek walks over.
I grin, resting my chin on my hand as he stands infront of us. "You gotta admit that he's cute, isn't he?" I tug on his tie. He hits my hand away gently. "So adorable" my dad says sarcastically. I laugh.
I sort out his apron for him. "Stop fussing" he pulls my hands away gently. I giggle. "What can I get for you?" He asks.
"I haven't read the menu yet" I say. "You need some help? You did learn how to read, didn't you?" He picks up the menu. I grin, snatching it off of him.
He looks at my dad. My dad orders. "We both know that you're just going to get a baked potato anyway" he steals the menu off of me. I giggle.
"Crap service in here.. I want to talk to your manager" I say. "I'm getting your drinks" he walks away. I grin as he turns back to look at me.
He brings our drinks back over. "I want ice" I say. He glares at me, taking the drink back. He walks away.
He comes back with an ice water. "I'm sorry, did I say ice? I meant a straw" I say. He takes a breath, closing his eyes. I grin. He walks away.
"You're cruel" my dad says. "He loves it" I grin. He walks back over and puts the drink down, placing a straw into it.
"You didn't take the ice out" I say. "You can't drink it with the ice?" He asks. "It'll melt and dilute my drink" I say. "You're drinking water!" He says. I just look at him.
My eyes widen as he reaches his hand into the glass, grabbing the ice. He grins at me before walking away. I laugh.
I look at my dad. "How are you, dad?" I ask. He looks at me. "Good.. I'm good" he says. "Where are you staying?" I ask. "The hotel down the road from our house" he says. "Oh" I say.
"I figured you were staying with grandma" I say. "No, she kicked me out" he says. "She did?" I ask. "After your mom told her what happened" he says. "Oh" I say.
"Do you think your mom will forgive me?" He asks. "I don't know" I say. "Listen meredith, I need to ask you something" he says. "Yeah?" I ask, taking a sip of my drink.
"I'm running out of money" he says. My smile fades. "I was wondering if you could get me some more, I know your mom is annoyed at me but-" he says. "Is that the only reason you wanted to see me?" I ask.
"What?" He asks. "You just wanted me to get you money?" I ask. "No, of course not honey.. but your mom isn't going to listen to lexie and-" he stops when I stand up. I just walk away.
"She's mad at me because of you!" I hear him say as I walk away faster. I clear my throat, trying to hold in my emotions.
I go to the toilets. "Leave me alone" I say as I hear someone follow me in. "Its me" Derek says. He pulls me into his embrace.
I push my face into his chest. "You okay? I saw you come in here" he pulls away, putting his hand on my cheek. "I think the only reason that he wanted to see me was to get money" I whisper.
"I'm sorry mer" he says. "I'm just gonna go home" I say. "My shift isn't over for another few hours" he says. "I can get a cab" I say. "Stay here baby, you haven't eaten all day.. I'll keep coming over and talking to you" he smiles.
He kisses my head. "Is my dad gone?" I ask. "Yeah.. sorry" he whispers.
"Okay then.. but can you move me to a booth in the corner of the room instead?" I ask. He nods. He washes his hands quickly before we walk out.
