Mia's P.O.V.

"We're just gonna look for one, that's it."

"I don't know...I have a date, Mia."

"Please, Eliza. I'm still clueless on what to give him."

"The cake is enough, believe me...but since you've booked me more clients and helped my career, sure." she grinned.

Eliza is my friend and she's a photographer. She's also 17 but she takes beautiful pictures like a pro would. She was even my photographer in one of the magazines I'm in. Since then, the public knew her and now she treats photography as a sideline for now. Every weekend, people would book her for events or photo shoots.

Today is Carson's birthday, January 20, and still I don't know what to get him. I baked a small chocolate cake for him. I didn't greet him in the car like everything was like any other day. We would eat the cake later at lunch break. Just one more subject...

I looked at my wristwatch. "SHOOT!"

"What?" Eliza asked.

"I only have 3 minutes to go to the next building for my next class!" I'm never late. My punctuality record ever since was always perfect.

"Meet me at the car park later, Mia." she waved at me.

I was walking fast. Not running. Etiquette, Mia. Focus.

I reached the classroom just in time before Professor Adams came. I saw Carson wave at me and I sat beside him.

"Running a little late?" he said as I sat down.

"Just had small talk with a friend. Nothing important." actually, it was important.

Professor Adams came inside the classroom. "Good morning class. Let's go back to our lesson yesterday. So, can someone please explain why Romeo..."

"I'm excited for lunch." he whispered. "What's with lunch later?"

I gave him a smirk. I glanced at him and then back to Professor Adams. "...you'll see..." I teased.

"Looking forward to it then."

"Great."

We went to a nearby park outside the school for lunch. And let me say, he was eager to know what's abouy lunch today.

"Before anything else..." I opened my bag and got his favorite necktie.

"How did you get that?" he asked as I tied the necktie around his eyes.

"I have many sources, Mr. Pierce." I whispered seductively. And yes, that was his line.

He chuckled. "Playing for me, Miss Cordova? And that's plagiarism."

"What's yours is mine..." I sat on his lap. "...remember?"

"Publicity, Miss Cordova." he smirked.

I scoffed and got the cake in my hands. "Just wipe that smirk off your face and remove your blindfold." I said annoyingly.

He took off the necktie and saw the chocolate cake in my hands.

"Happy Birthday, love!" I said and kissed his cheek.

"You made this?" he asked with a smile.

"Of course! I know it's your favorite, so I made it myself." I said lighting the candle on the cake.
