Carson's P.O.V.
Going back to the apartment we moved to, found by my mother of course, from court, I felt exhausted. At the same time, I felt a victorious grin creeping up my face. The cases are finally done, and my papers are now legally corrected.
Smiling from ear to ear, I climbed up the fifteen storey building. The elevator was broken and was being fixed at the moment, so I had no choice but to climb the stairs. I actually didn't mind it. I felt so giddy inside. I can't wait to come home. How I miss Mia so much. Three months have been very difficult to me, especially at night.
I would always dream about Mia. For three months, it was always this one dream. It was our wedding day. Mia was wearing a beautiful white dress and she was walking down the aisle with a bouquet of red roses in her hands. She was smiling that smile I adore. Her smile is radiant, the most beautiful smile I've ever encountered in my life. I've never loved anyone like this.
I've finally decided to ask Mia to marry me when I get home. These three months gave me the opportune time to think clearly and I've already settled on so many things. These months also made me realize that Mia really is the one for me. No doubt about it.
I love Mia. She is an amazing person, and when I get home, I'll just find the right time when to propose. I've already bought the engagement ring here. It was the classic ring. The band was in white gold, and the diamond's cut was a big princess one. I know Mia too well and she just want these things simple.
I've already talked to mom and Dave about it, and when I said my plan, mom clapped her hands like a little girl and she was squealing loudly! Dave congratulated me and he said that I've been through a lot and that he's proud that I'm making my very first huge decision with my life.
I also talked to Mia's parents through Skype secretly and they were so ecstatic. They welcomed me to their family, and Mia's father didn't say much because I knew he gave me his blessing already before. I promised them that I will love Mia for the rest of my life.
I caught Jessica online once. It was really late at theirs but she was still wide awake. Like what I did before, I told her and she jumping up and down on her seat.
I walked the hallway to the apartment. As I was inserting the key to the doorknob, I heard voices. Two female voices. The first belonged to my mom, but she didn't sound too happy. The second voice was the voice of the only person in this world who I loathe so much. I unlocked the door and the first thing I saw were a pair of legs, and her stilettos were in bright red.
Anger rushed to me as I recalled whose pair of legs belong to. I remember perfectly. Those legs were intertwining with another man's legs years ago in that fast food chain. And still through the years, it stayed the same. Why can't karma even deal with that? Like she could have spider veins for all I care. The next thing I just want to do is kick her out of here.
I got inside and slammed the door shut which shocked my mom, but the girl whose back was facing me didn't even flinch. It was clearly her. Her strawberry blonde hair was in big curls and she was wearing a very short red dress. It was so short, I'm starting to think she isn't even wearing anything underneath, and I shuddered inside just thinking about it.
Another reason why I'd rather be with Mia. Mia wouldn't even wear these kinds of clothing. Even before Claire and I started to date, she wears clothes that scream 'take me home, let's have sex.' Not like Mia. Mia's fashion is sexy but conservative. She looks amazing in everything she wears. Claire isn't poor, why can't she buy clothes that...you know...cover her more?
I read mom's face and she looked furious. Have I mentioned after Claire's little show at mom's birthday party way back made her sound like a murderer? My mother, who is an angel, is now the angel of death. She said she'll do all kinds of things to Claire like burning, skinning, and boiling her alive. First reason, she trashed her birthday. Second, she started the riot that made Mia look like a war freak who physically hurts her boyfriend's exes which is the other way around.
