Mia's P.O.V.
Restraining order? Carson will file a restraining order? Not only that, the next day, my parents found out and I got grounded for a month. So it's just school, house, school, house, company. That's it. They even packed me my snacks so that I won't get out of school.
I've never been grounded. And right now, I can feel every teenager's pain. It's harder for me, since they even got me two bodyguards along! Geez.
If you guys only saw the newspapers that day. I thought my life was gonna end. But with the help of Carson, I think it will get better.
...but no. They didn't approve of the restraining order. What kind of lawyer does Claire have?! I got a cut on my lip, I almost got blind by scotch, and almost died from a stiletto, and the restraining order wasn't approved?!
What if I died because of a stiletto?
'Cordova Inc.'s One and Only Heir, and Princess, Mia Cordova, Found Dead Due To A 4-Inch Stiletto'
There's something wrong with Claire. She's possesive over Carson too much. I wanna know why, but of course, I can't since I'm grounded.
Carson always follows me home. He knows I miss going outside with him. Helena and Dave tried convincing my parents to lift my 'punishment', but my parents are scared that I may hurt myself again or something else.
I agree with my parents. I want to have a bit of privacy at the moment. I can't bare to have people ambushing me while I'm outside.
When I was allowed to go outside again, my theory was right. The press didn't bother me anymore, thank God.
Since then, we didn't hear from Claire anymore. And I don't wanna hear from her ever again.
---3 weeks later---
So, my parents finally decided to let me go...as in go outside already!
I was walking to the kitchen to ask Mrs. Gertrude what our dinner would be, when the doorbell rang. I wasn't expecting anyone today. Carson was having his training at their company, so I opened the wooden doors to see who was outside, and I was surprised to see my cousin, Adrian, carrying a huge backpack.
"Adrian! What are you doing here?" I gave him a hug.
"It's nice to see you too, Mimi." he chuckled.
Ugh. Mimi was the name Adrian called me ever since. It's disgusting. And I already nicknamed my name. Amelia. It's such a regal name, but sometimes to me it sounds old. My parents named me after Grandmother Amelia, my mom's mother. They just added Monique for it to sound modern.
...just a bit perhaps...
The name Little Lottie came from The Phantom of the Opera. At the age of five, Christine was hard to say. Then dad said that they also called her Little Lottie. For a five-year-old, it was 'Wittle Wottie', then my tongue corrected as I gre and it became 'Little Lottie.' I remember running all over our old house yelling things like 'Little Lottie is hungry!', 'Little Lottie wants dolly!', or 'Little Lottie has to go potty!'.
Then my parents would play along and called me Little Lottie ever since. Blame my father for making me watch plays like The Phantom of the Opera at that young age. Seems that Adrian called me 'Mimi' because 'Little Lottie' is too long.
