We soon arrived and were met with teenagers dancing off in separate groups and many people making out, I was looking around to see if I could find any of the boys when I saw Conrad kissing some girl who was wearing a Red Sox hat. God, I already want to leave

"Hey," a guy says walking closer to me, he was cute "Hello," I say with a smile

"Mind if I get you a drink?" He says nervous "yes, of course. I'll go with you," I say before turning around toward Belly "Hey, I'll be back soon don't do anything stupid," I say and then walk away with the guy

"So what's your name?" I say looking at him as he pours me a drink "Dylan, what's yours?" He says handing me the drink

"Tatum, but you can call me Tate," I say before taking a sip out of the red solo cup "Wanna go for a walk down the water? Parties aren't really my thing." He asks

"yea, they aren't really my thing either," I say taking another sip from the cup as we walk closer to the water "So do you live here?" he asks

"No, I came here this summer with my friend who stays up here every summer," I say looking down "do you live here?" I ask

"Only in the summer," He says "Why did you come if parties aren't your thing?" I ask looking over at him. He has dark brown hair with brown eyes. He's wearing a button-up shirt with little palm trees on it and some tan shorts

"My friends dragged me here," He says "Why did you come?" he asks

"My friend wanted to come and I couldn't let her come alone," I say "That's nice of you," He says, and then it goes silent as we walk and then we start to hear people fighting so we make our way back up to where the party is and I see Conrad fighting with the guy who was hitting on Belly

I saw Belly stand up from where she was and made her way over toward Conrad and she tried to break it up but the guy elbowed her in the face causing me to leave Dylan and walk over toward her "Are you okay?" I ask while kneeling down to her "Yea," she says sitting up and looking over at the boy who is also by her side

"Let's get you up," I say while grabbing her arm and the boy grabs the other one "Is she okay?" Dylan asks while coming up to my side "Yea she's okay," I say smiling at him

Suddenly we hear cop sirens and the lights causing everyone to run, Dylan grabs my hand and pulls me along toward all the cars "Tate, over here," I hear Jeremiah yell from his car and Dylan and I walk over there

"It was nice meeting you," I say while smiling "Same, can I uh have your phone number?" he asks and I take out my phone and hand it to him and he does the same. I put my number in his phone and then hand it back to him.

I hop in the back of the truck while Jeremiah is still trying to put Conrad in on the other side "Come on, get in. watch your head," Jere says as he pushes Conrad in causing him to fall into the back seat and his head falls into my lap "yes. I know how to get into a car," He said rolling his eyes

"Tate? what were you doing with that guy?" He asks looking up at me "talking," I say looking down at him "It looked like he liked you," he says annoyed

"Well maybe he does," I say letting out a light laugh "Do you like him?" he says even more annoyed

"Maybe, he was nice but we didn't talk much," I say turning my gaze to Belly who was talking to a boy "come on, Belly. Get in." Jeremiah says starting the car

"Cam can give me a ride home, Right cam?" She says looking at the boy. As in the boy she met last summer before she left "Yes. that's no problem," Cam says looking at Jeremiah

"No, you're not gonna get in a car with a guy you just met," Jeremiah says annoyed "Jere, calm down. They met last summer, if she wants him to drive her home it's fine," I say hitting his shoulder the best I can without moving Conrad who has his eyes closed

"Whatever, but if your not home by the time we get home i'm sending out a search party," He says putting his hands on the wheel "Okay, thank you. Bye," She says looking at me through the window and I can tell she noticed Conrad on my lap because she started smirking

We starts driving away when Jeremiah presses on the break causing Conrad to almost fall forward but I grabbed him just in time "Fuck! Steven!," He says "Make sure Conrad doesn't puke all over," He says getting out of the car

"Who was that girl you were with?" I ask trying not to sound jealous "N-Niko? no, um Nicole?" He says confused at his answer "She's pretty," I say looking out the window

"Not as pretty as you though," I hear him whisper and then he closes his eyes. I run my hand through Conrad's hair as he still has his eyes closed he says "I love when you used to play with my hair,"

"You're hair is soft," I say still running my finger through it. After about five minutes Steven and Jere come back and we head home, I can tell Conrad fell asleep because his breathing came even and his crip on my leg lossend

"Get him up," Jeremiah says while we pull into the house "Conrad," I say shaking him

"Hmm," He says while opening his eyes and sitting up. We all get out of the car and head inside, Belly got here before us and was sitting on the couch with her mom "Can you help me?" Conrad ask while slouching on me

I help him walk upstairs and into his room, I set him down on his bed, take off his shoes and pull the cover up over him. "Thank you," He says with his eyes closed "You're welcome," I say shutting off his light and closing the door.
