"Can I finish your milk?" Jeremiah asks as Belly takes the last bite of her cereal "Here," she said handing him the bowl and he grabs it "Yo, I'm gonna go wash the clams. Did you get the lighter fluid?" Conrad asks Jeremiah while walking into the kitchen

"Yeah, it's already on the beach," Jeremiah says and Conrad whistles as his okay and walks out of the house while Susannah, Steven, and Laurel walk in after him "Are we done with the portrait yet?" Steven asks while walking over toward the fridge

"Yeah, for today. But you do look good in a dress shirt, Steven," Susannah says and Laurel nods her head in agreement "Shayla's coming today with Nicole and Gigi, so you guys get to meet her," Steven says while sitting down on a stool

"That's wonderful," Susannah says while looking at me with that look on her face I know all too well "Oh, and don't forget, Ms. Covington's first dance rehearsals are tomorrow, so Tate you better hurry up and ask Dylan," Susannah says

"I'm going to ask him today," I say. Jeremiah decided it would be a good idea to invite him today because he said and I quote "All the other lovers and ex-lovers are coming, no pun intended, so I invited your lover," It ended with me throwing a pillow at him and calling him stupid.

"wait, are you wearing makeup?" Susannah asks while looking at Laurel "Yeah, she's wearing makeup," Susannah says "Oh, my... she definitely is," Steven says at the same time

"Ooh!," "Mom!" "Laurel!" Jeremiah, Belly, and I say at the same time "So what? We're having a party," Laurel says while folding napkins

"I'm sure it has nothing to do with john coming to the clam bake," Susannah said "Oh, please. The husbands always come for the fourth," Laurel says "He's not your husband anymore," Belly says causing everyone to go quiet

"Oops. Yeah. Ex-husband," Laurel says while letting out an awkward laugh "You know, I still don't understand why you invited dad's girlfriend," Steven asks "Her name is Victoria, and your father wanted us all to meet her," Laurel says while Conrad walks in with a bucket in his hands and walking to the sink and setting it down

"Oh, Tate, I need you to make up the guest bed." Laurel says looking at me with a smile "Wait, dad and Victoria are staying here? In the room next to mine?" Belly says annoyed "And where is Tate gonna sleep?" Belly asks

"Oh, she can just sleep in Connie's room, she did it the other night," Susannah said causing me to choke on my drink and everyone to look back and forth between Conrad and me "Uh," I say while Conrad is just staring with wide eyes

"I understand, Belly and Taylor got into a fight and Taylor slept in the guest room and Connie is too nice to let her sleep on the couch," She said while smirking "Yup, that's it," Conrad said while clearing his throat

"Why didn't you tell me that?" Belly whispers to me causing me to laugh "Oh, speaking of dads, yours called. He's closing a deal, so he can't come," Susannah said while looking at Jeremiah

"What? But I got some serious fireworks for the show this year," Jeremiah says with disappointment lacing his voice "we'll take a video," Susannah said while shrugging her shoulders "It's not the same," Jere said "I know,"

"What're you smiling over there for?" Jeremiah asks while looking at Conrad, "No reason," he replied while smiling at the ground

"You got to fold the bottom sheet at a 45-degree angle if you want tight corners," Conrad said as he was leaning on the door watching me put new sheets on the bed, I tried to do what he said "Yeah, not like that," He says while laughing

"Then help me," I say while letting out a light laugh as he walks closer to me "you got to pull this down," He says while pulling the sheet down to the corner more "Okay," I mutter

Is this what it would be like? If we were older? Me and Conrad together? "See?" He says breaking me out of thought "Thank you," I say while smoothing out the sheet at the end

"Is bitch- I mean Nicole spending the night?" I ask him while laughing "Hey, she's not a bitch, she's like a nice person," Conrad says while also laughing "Only to you and Belly. To me, she's only nice when she wants advice on how to deal with you," I say

"But I can't help her, 'cause you're hard to deal with," I say while laughing and Conrad grabs the pillow and throws it at me "Hey," I say while grabbing it and laughing remembering what happened last time there was pillow hitting involved

"But no, she's not spending the night," He says while looking at me "I'm going over there," He says in a low voice, "Okay," I say trying not to sound bothered

"Well since I have to sleep in your room, can Dylan stay with me?" I ask while looking down "No." Conrad says in a stern voice "Why not?" I ask

"Because you will not be having sex in my bed," He says "Not even with you," I say without even realizing what I said

"now I never said that," He says causing me to laugh "Connie! Nicole is here!" We hear Susannah yell from downstairs "The bitch is here," Conrad says in a low voice, almost a whisper causing me to roll my eyes and stand up.
