"Belly, Tate, you guys are here!" Shayla says as Belly and I walk into the dressing room "Come, I saved you both spots," She says as we walk toward the two empty vanities that are next to Nicole

"Hey, you guys should really talk," Shayla says before walking away and I take a seat next to Nicole "Nicole, I'm really sorry," I say truly meaning it

"About what? Conrad? I'm over it. I'm here with somebody else," She says while looking at herself in the mirror "yea but you and Conrad were a thing and I just feel horrible," I say still looking at her

"I just think it's fucked up how you say you like Dylan but then you had Conrad texting you that," She says now finally looking at me "Dylan left the volleyball tournament to go hook up with another girl, Conrad knew that," I say

"Oh, so are you and Dylan over?" She asks "Yes, and I'm completely over Conrad," I say with half confidence "No one ever really gets over their first love," She says while giving me a half smile "Dylan is still my escort for tonight though," I say

"Is he here yet?" She asks "I'm not sure, let me text him," I say while pulling my phone out of my pocket

"Bad news," I say looking up from my phone "What?" Belly and Nicole say at the same time "Dylan isn't coming," I say starting to internally freak out "Oh, my God. this isn't good you need a date," Belly says also freaking out

"Uh, I'll be back," I say before standing up and walking out of the dressing room. I knew Susannah wouldn't be here yet because it doesn't start for another two hours so I dialed her number

"Hey, Tate is everything okay?" She says after answering the phone "No," I say "What's wrong?" She says sounding concerned "Dylan told me he isn't coming," I say

"Oh, my. Um, hold on. Connie!," I hear her yell on the other end of the phone "Will you do me a favor?" She says talking to Conrad "Yea," I hear him reply "Dylan canceled on Tate so would you please be her escort?" She asks him "Uh," He hesitates "Yes," He says and I hear Susannah squeal

"I'll send him right over," She says before hanging up. I walk back into the dressing room "Did you figure it out?" Nicole asks as I sit down "Uh, yes," I say looking down "Conrad's gonna be my escort,"

"That's good," She says with a smile "you need to get ready now," Belly says while she puts on mascara

I curl my hair and put it half up half down with pieces hanging out in the front, for my makeup I didn't do anything too serious just my base and a gold eye look, and a soft pink lipstick. It was now time to put on my dress and it had a lace top that wasn't very full on the bottom but still reached the floor then I slipped on white heels

"You look amazing," Belly says while looking me up and down "So do you Bell's, holy shit," I say looking down at her beyond-beautiful dress "You girls ready?" Paige says while peeking her head through the curtain. We all grabbed our rose bouquets before walking out of the room

We all walk toward the stairs where we walk onto the stage, I go out right after Belly and it was her turn so I was quite nervous "Isabel Conklin, daughter of John Conklin and Laurel Park. A student at Chesterbrook high school where she is the captain of the Varsity Volleyball Team," Paige says as Belly and Cam walk out onto the stage and then under the flower wedding arch

"Tatum Jewel, daughter of Thomas and Lucinda Jewel. A graduate from Chesterbrook high school and soon going to be attending Finch University in the fall," Paige says while Conrad and I walk onto the stage

"Thank you for this," I say to him but still smiling for the pictures "Of course, you look beautiful by the way," He says "You don't look too bad yourself," I said causing him to let out a light laugh

we walk down to the floor and I walk toward Susannah, I hand her my roses and I curtsy then she and Laurel give me a hug "You both look incredible," Susannah says with her eyes watering "I love you," I say to her before going back to Conrad

"How was my curtsy?" I ask Conrad "The queen would be proud," He says causing me to laugh "I am very thankful that you agreed to do it," I say

"Tate, I'd never let you do this alone or even give up," He says and I look at him with a smile "and plus you're lucky Steven made me practice with him for all these dances," He says while laughing

"Yea thank god or we'd both look stupid," I say and he laughs again "You could never look stupid," that made me smile like a damn idiot "It is my honor to introduce this year's Cousins Beach Country Club debutantes," Paige says and everyone starts clapping. we all walk back toward our tables as the boys get ready for their dance

"where's Jere?" I asked because I saw him a minute ago "Oh, I'm not sure," Susannah says while looking around the table "Now introducing this year's debutantes escorts," Paige says and everyone starts cheering

During the boys' dance, many cheers and screams were heard and the dance was very impressive and funny. I loved every minute of watching all those boys dance but it was soon over so that meant it was now the partner dance
