"Morning," I yell to my mom as I walk up to put my board away "Morning, hon. Hey, do you have a second?" She yelled back and I stopped and started walking toward where she was

"Yeah, Cleveland just called. I got to go," I say "It'll just take a sec," She says while walking closer to me "I just wanna know what going on with you and Tate, I've noticed you've been a little down lately and she's been spending more time with Dylan,"

"Uh, nothing. we're just friends and everything is fine," I say quickly really not wanting to talk about this "Is she taking Dylan to the ball?" she asks and I act like I'm thinking about the answer but I already knew that she was "Uh, yeah I think. that's what Belly said," I say while looking down and running my hands through my wet hair

"Hmm. okay, well I love you, have fun," She said while turning away from me and back to where she was sitting "I love you, bye," I say while also walking away.

"Yeah, it's wood rot. Yeah, see how brittle it is on the inside?" I ask while I tear a piece of the wood off the side of the boat "God, this is bad, man." I say while my eyes start to go a little blurry

"We have to pry off bits until we reach clean wood," I say while pulling another piece off really hard and catching my finger on the nail "Fuck! ow." I say while holding my finger and my eyes become even more blurry

"You're a little on edge, my friend," Cleveland says in a concerned voice "It's been a bad week," I say with my head down "is your dad back in town?" He asks "No, other stuff," I say in a shaky voice

"How are things looking with that girl?" he asks. The last time I saw him I told him all about Tate and what she had told me on the fourth "not good. and this isn't looking good either, man." I say now my heart starting to race at the thought of Tate and my mom

"I mean, it just keeps going and going. The whole goddamn thing is infected, and I didn't even notice," I say while raising my voice "It's everywhere and I didn't even notice!" I say now yelling and standing up in hopes to catch my breath

"Conrad, whoa! Woah." Cleveland says while putting a hand on my chest "What is going on man?" He asks while sitting me back down

"My heart is beating fast, and um..." I say now my eyes completely blurry and my breathing heavy "It's really hard to breathe," I say while trying my best

"Hey. No, it's normal. You're having a panic attack. It's okay." He says while I look down at my hands "Okay, look at me. Deep breaths. Okay?' He says while I pick up my head with tears falling down my face

"In. out. In. out. In. out." he says slowly while I follow his breathing pattern "Let it out, man, Conrad, what's going on?" He asks

I told him everything that was going on with my mom. I told him she didn't know that I knew and I couldn't tell anyone about this and how it's been weighing down on me. then I told him everything that has happened with Tate and me. I just feel like I can trust him not to say anything to anyone.

Tate's POV

Today Dylan and I were gonna go down to the beach and have a little picnic, we both decided we wanted to get a chance to know each other so much better than we already do. "Hey Tate," Belly says while walking into my room "Hey, what's up?" I say while turning to look at her

"What are you doing today?" She asks while falling onto my bed and grabbing the nearest pillow to hug "Uh, Dylan and I are going down to the beach," I say "That's cute," She says smiling

"You really like him?" She questions "I think I do, yes." I say smiling "I'm glad to see a smile back on your face, it's really good," She says

"I think this could really turn into something. There has been this weight lifted off my chest these past couple of days like I'm no longer walking on eggshells," I say happily "That's great but you know I'm still a diehard Cate shipper, no matter what," She says laughing

"I know but I guess he and I just weren't meant to be and he's happy with Nicole and I'm happy for him," I say half believing what I'm saying "Well I should be leaving, love you Bells," I say before walking out of my room

omg, I am beyond sorry for not updating in so long. I have been going through so much personal things and just haven't had the time or motivation to write anything. I will try and finish this story before the new season comes out, again I am so sorry for not posting <3
