2 summers before

"This is Tate," Taylor says to the brunette boy as he nods with a smile "I'm Conrad," He says while sticking out his hand as a gesture for me to shake it and I do exactly that

He was wearing a gray hoodie, one hoodie string was longer than the other, it was bugging me but I didn't want to say anything. He had black sports shorts on along with sandals, his hair was split down the middle but it wasn't that noticeable because it was short. Anytime he smiled there was a twinkle in his eyes

"Are you the same age as Taylor?" He asks as we all walk toward the house"No, I'm a couple of years older," I say with my head down "Do you play any sports" I ask trying to continue the conversation

"Yes, football, sometimes baseball if I feel like it," He says with a light laugh causing me to laugh "Do you play any?" He asks while looking at me "Volleyball, sometimes softball if I feel like it," I say mocking him and he laughs

"Are you any good?" He asks while laughing "She great," Taylor says while smiling at me. I didn't even want to come here, I wanted to spend the summer with my friends and my boyfriend but my mom made me come here to be with Taylor because she couldn't.

"I play sometimes in the pool and at the beach," He says as we reach the kitchen "Are you any good?' I ask while sitting down next to Taylor on the bench "No," The blonde haired boy said

"I'm Jeremiah," The blonde boy said immediately causing me to look over at Taylor with a smirk. Taylor had a crush on him last summer and from what I've heard he had one on her also "Ah, I'm Tate," I say while smiling

"We should all go swimming," Belly says while looking at all of us "Okay," Taylor says with a smile "I'll show Tate her room," Conrad says as he stands up "Thank you," I say while standing up

We walk through the cutout in the wall over toward the stairs, the wall was lined with family photos and some pictures of Belly, Steven, and Laurel. we walk down the hall until we reach a white door that led into a room painted a light blue color with a bed in the middle and a dress in front of it. There was a bathroom that connected to it, that was painted the same color

"here it is," He says letting me walk past him "If you need me, my room's down the hall," He says before leaving. I set my bag down on the bed and start to search for my bathing suit, I find it and slip off my clothes before I put it on

I walk into the bathroom to adjust it to make sure it covered everything, I walk back over to my bag to grab out my brush and then head back into the bathroom. I brush through my hair and then I decided to braid it so it was out of my face. After I had finished I heard a knock on my door

"You ready?" I hear Taylor say on the other side of the door "Yeah," I say before opening the door to reveal Taylor and Belly standing there both in purple bathing suits "You look good," Taylor says as we walk down the hall

"I know," I say causing her and Belly to laugh "I'm sorry mom made you come," She says while we walk down the stairs

"It's fine, it hasn't been bad so far," I say as we walk through the kitchen to be met with Conrad, Steven, and Jeremiah "Took you long enough," Jeremiah says while groaning and standing up

"Oops," Taylor says while looking up at him with a smile and he returns the smile. We all walk out to the pool, I set down the towel Belly had handed me and waited for Taylor to get in, "We should play chicken," Steven says while getting into the pool

"I call Bells," Jeremiah says while splashing her, "I call Steven," Taylor says while swimming closer to him "So I guess that leaves Tate and Con," Steven says as I nod and swim over toward Conrad

"I'm a total pro so we're gonna win," I say laughing, he goes underwater and I put my legs over his shoulders and he comes back up and I wobble a little bit before being steady. Conrad puts his hands on my lower thigh as we get closer to the rest.

"You're all going down," Taylor says while laughing, "Yea, yeah," I say rolling my eyes. Taylor tries her hardest to push me down and I try and push Belly down, successfully Belly pushes Taylor off Steven and she turns toward me after a few good pushes she falls off Jeremiah's shoulders earning a yell from Conrad

"I told you," I say looking down at Conrad with a smile as he laughs and hold out his hand for a high five "We make a great team," He says smiling up at me

this was just a filler chapter a little look back to the past of Conrad and Tate meeting, I'm gonna try and do more flashbacks cause I think younger them are so cute
