"Hey, Tate?" Belly says walking over toward Conrad and me while we were on the couch watching s movie "Can I talk to you?" She asks looking back and forth between Conrad and me

"Do you need her now? we're trying to watch a movie," Conrad says rolling his eyes "Yes, it's important," Belly says motioning for me to stand up "Okay, I'll be right back" I say standing up and we walk away

"You know Nicole right?" She asks as we sit on my bed "Yea, she's the girl Conrad was with at the bonfire right?" I say confused as to why she's asking me

"Her and Conrad are a thing," She says looking down "Okay?" I say confused "He didn't tell her you guys used to date and I might have accidentally told her and now she's mad," She says

"Why is she mad?" I ask, nothing is going on with Conrad and me so there is no reason for her to be mad "Yesterday, she and Conrad were supposed to hang out but he told her that you needed help with summer studying, he told her that you were like family to him and when I mentioned that you guys fell asleep on the couch together she got even madder," She says

"Oh," I say looking down. Why couldn't he have just told her that he and I were swimming, I would have even asked if she wanted to come and I could have invited Dylan. I don't want her to think that something is going on with us, the last thing I want to do is cause problems for her and Conrad.

"But I'm sure he meant nothing by it," I try and explain "Yeah, but she said she was gonna talk with him and I know how those girls are, he most likely won't speak to you again," She says causing me to laugh

"I don't think Nicole's the type of girl to tell him that she feels uncomfortable with him talking to me and then he just says he won't," I say still laughing but it was cut off by yelling "Why did you lie to me though," The voice yells coming from downstairs

"Because I didn't know what to say," He says back, not yelling but also not quietly speaking "You could have just said 'Hey Nicole, I can't hang out today, I'm gonna go swimming with my ex then fall asleep cuddling up to them while watching a movie' instead of lying to me," She yells with anger lacing her voice

"She's more than just my ex Nicole," He starts to say but Nicole cuts him off "Yea, trust me I know. she was your first love, your first kiss, your first fucking everything. I get that sometimes you can still be friends with your ex but she's not just your ex. she is the girl you will always have love for," She yells

"Nicole, it's not like that," He says while Belly and I creep at the top of the stairs "Conrad, it's me or her?" She asks "Told you," Belly says while turning to look at me

"I'm not going to choose," He yells "You have to, if you want to keep whatever this thing is that we have then you are going to have to choose," She says raising her voice again

"Nicole, come on. I do like you but," He starts to say but cuts himself off "But, it's always gonna be her?" She asks "I should have stayed away, I should have known. Last year when I asked you to be my escort you said no." she states, "You said no because you were still in love with her," She says

"why would you even think that?" He asks "Jeremiah told me that you dated someone two summers before that and you weren't over them he said her name was potato, who tf names their child potato I thought, but I didn't think anything of it because I thought I could change your mind and maybe you would fall in love with me," She says lowering her voice

Potato was the nickname Susannah gave me the first summer I came here, I used to be so obsessed with them and she would make some for me every day, She thought she was a genius for putting two and two together and figuring that Potato works as a great nickname.

"Maybe we shouldn't listen anymore," I say backing up not wanting to hear anything Conrad has to say "You can leave, I want to hear him confess how he's still in love with you," She says watching me walk away

This is kind of just a filler chapter, I'm just trying to lengthen the process of where I'm going so this can be a long book. Sorry if it was boring, I'll try and update either late tonight or early tomorrow.
